This ancient imperial city, rediscovered over 50 years ago, has never been excavated. Initial excavations reveal a gigantic city, even more imposing than Beijing’s famous Imperial City.

As an Australian, I had very little knowledge of China’s ancient history and the remarkable artistic achievements of its past dynasties before watching this documentary. ‘Fengyang: The Forgotten Imperial City’ truly opened my eyes and left me in awe. The scale of the city’s historical significance and the sophistication of its art and architecture are absolutely breathtaking. This film has inspired me to visit Fengyang in person someday to learn more and experience its rich cultural heritage firsthand.
