Amazon Australia has become the biggest partner of Pax Aus 2022, with on ground activations from Prime Video, Amazon.com.au and Twitch. Held over three days from October 7 – 9 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, PAX Aus is a celebration of gaming and gaming culture, and the largest gaming event in the southern hemisphere.

Built bespoke for fans of the Prime Video series, the immersive and interactive activation Prime Video Corridor of Curiosity: See Where It Takes You, themed around three of Prime Video’s most popular series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Boys and Jack Ryan.

“We have chosen three of the most popular shows on our service to showcase at Pax Aus, giving fans a chance to engage with these series like never before”, said Hushidar Kharas, head of Prime Video Australia & New Zealand. “From seeing authentic costumes from The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power series, stepping inside iconic Vought boardroom from The Boys or testing yourself in the Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan interrogation room, these experiences offer fans an exclusive experience and chance further immerse themselves in the shows they love to stream on Prime Video.”

“Prime Video is proud to be partnering with Pax Aus as part of Amazon overall being the biggest partner locally at the event. The immersive and interactive activation Prime Video Corridor of Curiosity: See Where It Takes You rooms bring to life Prime Video’s new global brand positioning SEE WHERE IT TAKES YOU. The positioning intends to inspire customers to enter the world of Prime Video and explore the different levels of the Amazon entertainment ecosystem after enjoying the collection of award-winning Amazon Originals, hit movies, and popular TV shows like Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, The Boys, The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Terminal List, Upload, Thirteen Lives, plus Emmy award-winner Fleabag – encouraging customers to follow their passions and see where it takes them next.”

Attendees can visit the Amazon.com.au booth to experience some of the huge range of gaming products available on the store from brands including Meta Quest, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Lenovo, HP, Razer, and HyperX. As the only retailer selling Meta Quest products in Australia, Amazon.com.au is offering Pax attendees the opportunity to trial the exclusive products and the chance to enter a competition to win their own Meta Quest head set.

Prime Video Corridor of Curiosity: See Where It Takes You

  • The first room will be themed around The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, allowing fans of the series to explore Middle-earth and marvel at the epic costumes, which are on display for the first time in Australia. The costumes will be from characters featured in season one of the series and includes costumes worn by “Arondir”, a Silvan elf played by Ismael Cruz Córdova, “Galadriel”, a legendary elven commander played by Morfydd Clark, and “Sadoc Burrows”, a wise leader of the Harfoot community played by Sir Lenny Henry. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, with episodes exclusively streaming each week until October 14, was the biggest ever premiere on Prime Video when it launched in early September.
  • The second Prime Video room will be based around the diabolic The Boys series, inviting attendees into The Vought Boardroom in The Seven Tower where they will work in a small team to solve clues to find and retrieve the vials of Compound V before time runs out!
  • The final Prime Video room will be based around Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, which will be returning for a third season this December on Prime Video. Fans will enter an interrogation room and have to find the hidden entrance to the shooting gallery where they will need to hit targets, competing for bragging rights, trying to get their name on the top of the leader board.
  • Fans in attendance will be able to collect branded swag including a selection of limited-edition pins that they can earn after completing each room and sharing their experience on social, as well as a Prime Video tote bag.  Limited badges for PAX Aus are still available, so fans can purchase online here to attend and explore these exclusive activations with Prime Video Australia.

SEE WHERE IT TAKES YOU

Inspired by the Prime Video brand positioning, See Where It Takes You tagline is intended to inspire customers to enter the world of Prime Video and explore the vast awesomeness of our entertainment hub, encouraging users to follow their passions and see where it takes them next. Fans can follow their passions deeper on Prime Video – from series to movies to books to music to games and more. It’s a multi-dimensional, immersive hub where you’ll always find others with a similar passion.
