Postcards on Channel 9 and 9Now (21 July) – Join the Postcards team this week as they head to the Grampians and Olympic swimmer Mack Horton joins the show as a guest presenter in the lead-up to Channel Nine’s Olympic and Paralympic coverage, at 5.30pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Kris Smith is exploring Ballarat (Wathaurong Country). He starts at the Art Gallery of Ballarat before lunch at The Shared Table in Buninyong to taste their entry in Ballarat’s Best Pie Competition. He also checks out the tiny house accommodation at Morromong Estate.
Shane Dellia takes a trip to the East Grampians where top wineries and fine food are on offer (Djabwurung Country). After sampling an excellent drop at the Mount Langi Ghiran winery he checks out the underground cellars at the historic Seppelt Great Western vineyard.
Shane’s last stop is Mount William Station, where he meets owner Will Abbot and receives his first-class farm hospitality.
Meanwhile, Madeline Spark explores the lesser known towns of the Grampians region, including Murtoa and Dimboola (Jardwadjali and Wergaia Country). In Murtoa she admires the local silo art before taking in The Stick Shed, a breathtaking remnant of Murtoa’s grain farming history. Then it’s off to Dimboola to visit the Dimboola Imaginarium, a whimsical gift shop that also offers boutique accommodation. Afterwards, it’s time for a hearty pub meal at the Victoria Hotel Dimboola.
And this week we find Olympic swimmer and guest presenter Mack Horton in Albert Park (Boonwurrung Country), poolside at his old stomping ground, the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Here he meets Anne Marie Harrison, CEO of the Victorian Institute of Sport, to give viewers the scoop on Australia’s top medal hopefuls for Paris. Afterwards, Mack heads to his favourite neighbourhood cafe, Lenny.
