Our State on a Plate on Channel 9 Perth returns – Western Australia’s favourite food and travel program, Our State on a Plate, is back for its landmark tenth series, this Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
The milestone new season continues to blend the rich flavours of WA’s cuisine with captivating travel experiences, delivering a feast for the eyes and the palate.
Hosted by renowned WA chef and restaurateur Stuart Laws from his award-winning restaurants Fallow and Brown Street Grill, the series will welcome for the first time 9News Perth personalities Natalia Cooper and Kelly Haywood. Returning fan favourites include fresh produce expert Trevor Cochrane, leading WA chef Zach Green and creative food consultant Caroline Taylor.
In episode one Stuart will embark on a food lover’s pilgrimage to Leederville, one of Western Australia’s most dynamic and popular dining destinations.
Caroline embarks on a culinary journey, sharing her special recipe for succulently steamed Chinese eggs and the pivotal ingredient needed in a variety of popular dishes.
Meanwhile, Trevor demonstrates how to set up a kitchen garden to cut down on grocery bills, covering everything from selecting the best vegetables to choosing the right soil and tools.
Shifting gear and heading to the vibrant red soil of the Pilbara region at Yarrie Station, Zach, renowned throughout the Pilbara as the “story-teller chef”, brings culture to life by showing us how to craft tantalising beef dishes.
With the Perth Royal Show just around the corner, the Royal Agricultural Society of WA will highlight the food offerings, inviting Natalia to visit the team at La Delizia Latticini in Victoria Park. She’ll discover the intricate process behind their award-winning, hand-crafted dairy products.
