Deadly Funny 2025 airs Friday November 28 on NITV – The Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s annual Deadly Funny competition celebrated its 19th year this year.
As Australia’s only dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander comedy competition, year in year out, it discovers bold, brilliant comedians and master yarn-spinners from the oldest culture on earth.
The Top 8 freshest, funniest First Nations talent competed in this year’s Grand Final, hosted by Kevin Kropinyeri, and now Deadly Funny 2025 will air on NITV and SBS On Demand on Friday November 28 at 9:30pm.
The 2025 final 8 featured Daniel Newchurch (Guuranda, SA), Dhinawan (Meeanjin, QLD), Errolyn Strang (Woolyungah, NSW), Kimberley Benjamin (Rubibi, WA), Matthew Bonson (Garramilla, NT), Ngaire Pigram (Rubibi, WA), Teresa Moore (Naarm, VIC)and Yindyamarra Johnson (Wagga Wagga, NSW). NITV’s broadcast also features special guest appearances from Kalah Lovegrove (Ngarrindjeri, SA), Janti Blair (Butchulla, QLD), and proud Boonwurrung men Jaeden and Marbee Williams.
Also joining the program this year as both participants and mentors are previous graduates of Deadly Funny including Steph Tisdell, Andy Saunders, Shiralee Hood, Elaine Crombee, Dane Simpson, Leon Filewood, Ghenoa Gela and Sean Choolburra.
