Bridget returns to Ballarat (Wathaurong Country) to showcase its best hidden gems. She starts her day with a coffee at The Salty Sparrow, a cozy laneway café serving up great brews and a strong community vibe. Next she visits Perridak Arts, a First Nations-owned gallery celebrating local Indigenous heritage and storytelling. For a stylish night out, Bridget heads to Grainery Lane, a goldrush-inspired cocktail bar distilling its own gin and offering an exclusive speakeasy experience.
Livinia Nixon is in Melbourne exploring the vibrant Collins Street precinct (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country) and meeting the stars of Jesus Christ Superstar, now playing at the Princess Theatre. Post-theatre she heads to Pastuso, a lively Peruvian eatery in AC/DC Lane where bold flavours and pisco sours take centre stage. She also stops by the Garden State Hotel, a multi-level venue offering everything from Italian bites at Tippy Tay to signature cocktails in the Rose Garden.
To wrap up, Livinia dines at Longrain, a Melbourne institution serving up modern South-East Asian flavors and a Jesus Christ Superstar-themed cocktail.
Shane Delia checks out the thriving food scene of Geelong West (Wathaurong Country), starting with artisan pastries at the Born & Bread Bakehouse, a favourite known for its expertly crafted sourdough and sweet treats. He visits Eileen’s Charcoal Grill, a Euro-style steakhouse inside the historic Sawyer’s Arms Hotel, where the menu pays tribute to its inimitable namesake, Eileen Clatworthy, who owned the Arms for 68 years. To finish, Shane heads to Kalyes Marinas Filipino Grill & Seafood, a gem of a venue serving up seafood boils packed with bold flavours.
And Madeline Spark enjoys the laidback charm of Point Leo (Bunurong Country), a town that perfectly balances renowned wineries with a sleepy village feel. Her visit starts at the Point Leo General Store, a community hub that has served locals for almost 80 years. Then she’s off to Trigger Brothers Surfboards, where she learns about the famous Aussie brand born from a Christmas Day surf in 1964, before catching a wave at Point Leo Beach with a lesson from the East Coast Surf School.
