My Way on Channel 9 Queensland and 9Now S10E4 – From the mountaintops of the world to the heartbeat of Brisbane’s cultural scene, we meet a group of people using their special talent and experience to enrich the lives of others on My Way, this Sunday 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Tom Oliver, founder of the Wynnum Fringe Festival, has turned a spark of an idea into an internationally recognised arts festival in Brisbane, championing the restoration and relocation of the famous Augathella Spiegeltent that was looking for a new purpose in Outback Queensland in 2013. The Spiegeltent is now a dynamic performance space and a cornerstone of the city’s arts scene: a unique venue for Australian creativity to flourish while nurturing local talent and fostering community connections.
Mountaineer Allie Pepper thrives on pushing her limits to incredible extremes.
In a career spanning 24 years, she has scaled the world’s highest peaks, including Mt Everest, as well as five 8,000-metre summits without oxygen – a record for an Australian woman. Beyond mountaineering, Allie is an advocate for personal development and tenacity and uses her knowledge and experience to guide others to summit their life peaks.
Amy and Hannah Little’s passion for tea began long before they opened their Tour De Tea boutique in Brisbane. From setting up their parents’ tea stall at farmers markets to their own global travels, exploring the cultural significance of tea, these sisters have been dedicated to bringing an appreciation of fine teas to Australia. With over 60 varieties, their shop is a tea lover’s cornucopia, as well as a space for workshops and community involvement to deepen our connection to this great drink.
And finally we meet Marissa and Helen Kentrotis whose journey to opening Pablo’s Pantry was driven by a love for family, tradition, and authentic Greek cuisine.
Drawing inspiration from their grandmother’s cherished recipes, they brought their heritage to the heart of Brisbane. Today their café and deli is a vibrant local spot, where people gather to savour rich flavours and enjoy the homey atmosphere that only a family business can offer.
Don’t miss these stories full of dedication and heart on My Way, this Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
