Postcards on Channel 9 – Join the Postcards team this week as sisters Eliza and Liberty Paschke from The Block join the show, Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Lauren Phillips meets up with the two former Blockheads who are currently taking part in Channel 9’s new series, Do You Want To Live Forever? In Cremorne, they check out the sisters’ local favourites (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). One of their go-to eateries is La Manna & Sons where they often enjoy a mouthwatering panini and healthy smoothie. The girls then stop by Recovery Lab in Richmond, a wellness studio designed to maximise your physical and mental recovery, and finish off with a dish from the popular salad bar Green On.
Madeline Spark embarks on a bakery tour across the city (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country).
Her first stop is in the Queen Victoria Market precinct, Publique Bakery, where she catches up with owner Sung Kim. From there it’s on into Carlton and Tokyo Lamington, a bakery that specialises in some playful flavours of the Aussie classic. Her last stop is Scandinavian inspired Iris The Bakery in Brunswick for a chat with owner Tom Edwards.
This week Kris Smith is in Spotswood (Boonwurrung Country). Following on from Madeline’s bakery crawl, he joins the locals at Candied Bakery on Hall Street and sits down with owner, Orlando Artavilla. The main shopping village beckons on Hudsons Road, so Kris grabs a delicious traditional Balkan sandwich from Stan’s Grill and washes it down with wine and craft beer from Hudsons Road Wine and Beer.
And Brodie Harper travels to Torquay for a relaxing coastal stay (Wathaurong Country). Her day starts with a pep-me-up coffee and toastie from local favourite Mavis Mavis. She then checks into the RACV Torquay Resort located at the start of the Great Ocean Road, before enjoying a meal at their Number One restaurant and a chat with executive chef Michael Bannerman.
