My Way on Channel 9 Queensland and 9Now returns for S12E1 – From the blazing Australia heat to the icy world stage, meet four Aussie hopefuls on their Winter Olympic journeys, stories filled with glory and grit, in the new season premiere of My Way this Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
In this season My Way continues with its authentic storytelling approach, spotlighting real people, doing it their way. Get to know folks from all walks of life, from icy mountains to the tropical coast. And while their locale is always breathtaking, it’s the individuals who are at the heart of every episode.
In the premiere, hailing from sunny North Queensland, we meet Alex Ferlazzo who despite being an adrenaline chasing teenager, had never heard of the luge. But after a chance encounter he swapped the sticky heat of Townsville for the thrills of high-speed ice, revealing a natural talent.
Throwing everything into the sport, Alex rocketed to his first Winter Olympics at the age of 18.
Now preparing for his fourth Games, he’s in the best physical and mental shape of his life following a career-best year. Milano Cortina 2026 is where Alex hopes to make history with Australia’s first Olympic luge medal.
Raised at pristine Mount Buller, Boris Stanish started hitting the ski slopes when he was just one, and a dream was born. After exploring his options as he grew up, he committed to the uniquely demanding discipline of Biathlon, a fierce combination of cross-country skiing and precision rifle shooting. The training is relentless, but Boris is all in. To hold himself accountable during his first genuine Olympic campaign, he launched Project 509, posting a raw, unfiltered video every day to document his amazing quest for Olympic selection.
Ashleigh Werner found her future on ice after an accidental tryout for the Australian Bobsleigh team.
With a background in multiple sports, including a stint with the Brisbane Broncos, Ashleigh’s tryout sparked an all-consuming, high-speed passion. The road hasn’t been smooth, with injuries and qualification battles testing her resolve, but fierce determination and positivity had her in prime shape heading into the crucial Olympic trials.
Finally, we meet the Curlews, a group of dads who discovered curling in their 40s and are now chasing an Olympic dream. Like many great ideas, it started at the pub. Andrew, Boyd, Cormac, Matt and Nick have turned enthusiasm and mateship into an unexpected competitive edge. This unconventional crew is determined to defy expectations and prove it’s never too late to slide your way to the top. While their aim is to qualify for future Olympic Winter Games, you will hear Andrew Swain, part of the Curlew Curlers, calling the Curling in Nine’s Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 coverage.
Don’t miss these stories of Aussie athletes chasing their Olympic dreams in the season premiere of My Way, this Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
