My Way on Channel 9 returns to celebrate creativity – Bask in the extraordinary spirit and creativity beaming out of the Sunshine Coast in the premiere of My Way, which returns for its ninth season at 5.30pm AEST this Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
And watch out for future episodes as My Way continues to scout far and wide to honour outstanding Australians doing outstanding things. Like the couple using their Olympic boxing expertise to engage the youth in their community; the dynamic duo bringing authentic Italian fine dining to great locations in Brisbane; and the guitar craftsman whose ingenuity has put his instruments in the hands of Tash Sultana, Steph Strings and The Teskey Brothers.
But first we are off to the Sunshine Coast, meeting Jenna Sanders, a third-generation baker who revitalised the cherished Kenilworth Bakery into a vibrant community hub. After 15 years of honing her craft, Jenna purchased the historic bakery – and what started with four doughnut sales a day has blossomed into a bustling hotspot, with 5,000 doughnuts flying off the shelves each Saturday.
From there, we hit the breathtaking Glasshouse Mountains, where Lisa and Nick Palu are brewing a fresh chapter in coffee production.
Since acquiring the historic Glasshouse Plantation Estate in 2015, this close knit family have planted over 5,000 Arabica coffee trees. They have also transformed the original 1910 farmhouse into a café and roastery, inviting visitors to savour this journey of Australian-grown coffee from cultivation to cup.
On we continue to the Canefields Distillery where Kylie and Luke Farrelly and Dan Cook have transformed their generational canefields into a premier rum and gin operation, mastering every aspect of production from planting to bottling. Viewers will raise a glass to their dedication to craftsmanship and the rejuvenation of the Sunshine Coast cane industry.
Meanwhile at Eastwell Farms, Susie and Bryant Ussher and their son Alex are champions of sustainable agriculture.
By blending regenerative cattle farming with innovative mushroom cultivation, this family exemplify a commitment to harmony with nature. Driven to enrich the land and strengthen the community’s connection to the environment, they are setting a powerful example for future generations.
