Jayne Azzopardi Joins Today in the News Chair – In a significant shake-up at Nine Network, one of the channel’s most accomplished journalists, Jayne Azzopardi, is set to join the team at Today in the news chair.
Azzopardi’s career is nothing short of extraordinary, having previously worked with globally renowned news organizations such as ITN, BBC, CNBC, and Al Jazeera before joining Nine 15 years ago.
Throughout her tenure at Nine, Jayne has truly done it all. From covering politics in Canberra, including two Federal Elections and several leadership changes, to being on the frontline of the most significant news events of the past decade, Azzopardi has proven her journalistic prowess time and again.
Most recently, she has been co-hosting Weekend Today alongside Clint Stanaway, cementing her place as a trusted and familiar face to viewers.

Renee Bargh boasts an equally impressive career. Starting at Channel [V], she moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to become a correspondent and weekend co-host for EXTRA. Upon returning to Australia, Bargh co-hosted The Voice with Darren McMullan. Over the past few years, she has been a familiar presence on Today, filling in during the summer months and quickly becoming a beloved member of the team.
