AIDC announces new slate-pitching marketplace – The Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) has today announced its new slate-pitching marketplace, The Showroom, catering to Australian production companies specialising in documentary and factual content.

The new initiative has been designed by AIDC to support established production companies in progressing the development of non fiction projects.

The marketplace program will offer participants the chance to network with high-level buyers in attendance at the conference, including those representing international broadcasters, streamers and sales agents. Such access is exclusive to participants of The Showroom, affording them the opportunity to generate business leads through introductions and extended meetings with key contacts.

The Showroom allows participating companies to have extended in-person meetings with high-level buyers representing international organisations attending AIDC to pitch multiple projects in their pipeline.

Up to ten production companies will be selected to participate in The Showroom during AIDC 2024, with meetings curated on a match-making basis with verified mutual interest from both production companies and buyers.

With applications now open, AIDC is inviting Australian production companies to submit an application for their opportunity to take part.

ELIGIBILITY

Individuals and teams representing companies, and companies may apply. Applicants must be 18 years of age or over.

To be eligible to apply for The Showroom, applicants must:

● Be an established Australian screen production company with a trading address in an Australian state or territory

● Have a catalogue of documentary and / or factual projects that have been broadcast on a television or streaming service, festival or theatrical (cinema) setting

● Include a minimum of three (3) and up to five (5) projects in development clearly recognised as factual or documentary formats as part of their application

Applications are open to projects that are: feature films, singles, series, or formats. Projects can be in either development or production.

If selected, applicants are required to purchase an AIDC 2024 Business Pass for all members participating in The Showroom with a minimum two (2) participants required per production company.

Successful applicants will be notified by early January 2024 and must be available to attend The Showroom pitch meetings at AIDC, Melbourne between Sunday 3 – Wednesday 6 March 2024.
