When a fishing trawler returns to Shipton Abbott’s harbour having lost a passenger, Humphrey is brought in to investigate.
A note found on the boat’s deck suggests that the woman took her own life while her stepsons were below deck.
As her estranged daughter comes into town to help make funeral arrangements for her mother, the seemingly simple case grows ever more complex and Humphrey and the team unearth shocking secrets from the family’s past.
