Marc Fennell returns for a third season of acclaimed series Stuff The British Stole – The ABC, Screen Australia, Screenwest and Lotterywest are delighted to announce that filming is underway on the third season of award-winning history-mystery series Stuff The British Stole.

Hosted by Walkley award-winning journalist Marc Fennell (Mastermind, The School That Tried To End Racism, The Feed), the new season promises another gripping journey through the tangled legacy of the British Empire.

Continuing his adventures across the globe, Marc explores the mysteries behind six new objects – and meets those who want them back. Unravelling wild and intriguing stories, he’ll dive into the dark depths of history beneath the sparkling waters of the Caribbean to a covert journey of espionage down a river in Asia.

Stuff The British Stole, season three, is co-produced by Wooden Horse, WildBear Entertainment and Artemis Media for the ABC. Major production investment from the ABC and Screen Australia. Financed in association with Screenwest, Lotterywest and VicScreen.

ABC Head of Documentary and Specialist, Susie Jones says:

“The ABC is so proud of Stuff The British Stole and are thrilled to bring audiences the third series. Once more Marc takes our audience on a global odyssey unpacking the complex history of the British Empire, bringing historical stories to life in a compelling, emotive and resonant manner that will have viewers reconsidering what they think they know.”

“Averaging nearly one million viewers an episode in season two, we are delighted the ABC has backed a third season of our show. Marc has begun his quest and is circumnavigating the planet tackling the biggest heist stories of the British Empire,”

– says the Executive Producers from Wooden Horse, WildBear Entertainment and Artemis Media.
Screen Australia Head of Documentary Richard Huddleston says:

“The strength of Stuff The British Stole is its ability to provoke conversations and inspire debate about the world around us and the complexities of our colonial past. Full of plot twists and turns, it will intrigue and surprise with centuries old mysteries that continue to impact people across the globe. Throw in the spectacular locations and this third series looks set to continue hooking in audiences who are searching for a half hour hit of well-crafted history storytelling.”

Screenwest Chief Executive Officer Rikki Lea Bestall says:

“Screenwest is proud to support the third season of Stuff The British Stole, as Marc Fennell hones in on a new range of artifacts and the stories behind them. It’s great to see the talented Western Australian team at Artemis come on board for this season.”

The acclaimed series Stuff The British Stole continues to garner industry recognition, winning the 2025 AIDC Award for Best Factual Series and the Screen Producers Australia Award for Best Documentary. The series was also honoured as a Rose d’Or nominee in 2024 and received nominations for Best Factual Entertainment and Best Non-Fiction TV Direction at the 2024 AACTA Awards.

Stuff The British Stole, season three, will air on ABC TV and ABC iview in 2026. Until then, stream seasons one and two on ABC iview, or listen to the podcast on ABC listen app.
