Oscar-winner, 90-year-old Dame Judi Dench is passionate about the world’s greatest playwright, William Shakespeare.
Now, she is on a quest to discover whether her ancestor met Shakespeare in 1606, the year he writes three of his greatest plays, plague returns to England and Londoners reel from the Gunpowder Plot.
She travels from Denmark’s legendary Elsinore castle – home to Shakespeare’s Hamlet – to some of England’s finest palaces to edge ever closer to her hero.
In a dramatic finale, will Judi discover that her ancestor actually met Shakespeare?
