Semi-retired couple Garry and Fiona Learmonth are moving from Auckland to the small rural community of Loburn on the North Canterbury plains.
They are determined to come in on budget, all too aware that any over-run will compromise their plans to retire and enjoy the quiet rural lifestyle. If they spend more than they’ve got, Garry is brutally honest, declaring they will have “failed.”
There may, however, be another measure of success and failure – determined by how the very individual interior design of the house turns out.
