ABC launches Auslan‑accessible preschool content on ABC iview – The ABC is pleased to announce a significant expansion of its accessibility offering, introducing Auslan versions of some of Australia’s most popular preschool programs.
The first collection of content featuring Auslan, the sign language of the Australian Deaf community, will premiere on ABC iview on 13 April 2026.
The ABC currently provides both Closed Captioning and Audio Description across its broadcast and digital platforms. The addition of Auslan represents the next step in the ABC’s ongoing commitment to ensuring young viewers can enjoy its premium children’s content.
From April 13, Australian children and families can enjoy Auslan‑accessible episodes of Bluey’s most popular episodes, Gardening Australia Jr, Ginger and the Vegesaurs, Kangaroo Beach, Fizzy & Suds, Knee High Spies, and later this year, Flower & Flour.
The ABC will continue to roll out more Auslan-accessible preschool titles, series and episodes each year on ABC iview.
ABC Director Screen Jennifer Collins:
“We’re delighted to bring Auslan to our children’s programming on ABC iview, and to create a more accessible, inclusive and connected experience for all young Australians as they enjoy our much‑loved children’s content.”
The ABC’s launch on April 13 coincides with Auslan Day, a celebration of the Australian Deaf community and an initiative of Deaf Australia.
