ABC children’s and comedy and drama in the running for prestigious AWGIES – The ABC has received 16 nominations for the 2025 Australian Writers Guild awards (AWGIES) with the writers behind Beep and Mort receiving three nominations, and Total Control, and Gold Diggers each receiving two.
The ABC received six nominations in the children’s categories and four nominations in situation or narrative comedies. Winners will be announced on Thursday 13 February in Sydney.
ABC Chief Content Officer Chris Oliver-Taylor said: “Congratulations to all the talented writers nominated for this year’s AWGIE Awards. We’re proud to work with some of the country’s finest writers and storytellers whose creativity brings our ABC programs to life.”
The annual Australian Writers’ Guild Awards are for Australian Writers Guild members, based on script alone.
