Get set for a massive weekend of sport on Seven and 7plus Sport – AFL, Australia v India T20, LIV Golf, Supercars, athletics and horse racing on Seven and 7plus Sport
One of the biggest events on the AFL calendar makes its long-awaited return this weekend, when AFL Origin roars back to life after a 25-year hiatus. The iconic state-based rivalry takes centre stage as part of a blockbuster weekend of sport, live and free on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
Seven’s unmissable weekend of sport begins with LIV Golf Adelaide, live and free from 12:00pm AEDT today and running across four days on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
The tournament will feature all 13 of the league’s teams, including hometown heroes Ripper GC with Aussie stars Cameron Smith, Lucas Herbert, Marc Leishman and new star recruit Elvis Smylie, off the back of an impressive win in Riyadh.
Seven’s AFL Origin coverage kicks off tonight at 8.30pm with a special preview entertainment show Origin Countdown, broadcast live from outside Optus Stadium.
Origin Countdown will be hosted by 7AFL’s James Brayshaw and Abbey Holmes, with a must-watch preview of the match and special features from a host of high-profile sporting stars and celebrities throughout, including Seven’s own Luke Hodge, Brian Taylor, Daisy Pearce and Campbell Brown.
Fans can expect live appearances from AFL superstars Nick Daicos, Tom Barrass and Chad Warner, AFL Origin coaches Chris Scott and Dean Cox, West Australian royalty Nat Fyfe, Ben Cousins and Nic Naitanui, as well as many others.
As part of the show, Seven’s expert commentator and AFL Agenda Setters host, Kane Cornes, will be embarking on an 18-kilometre run across Perth, leaving from the Scarborough Beach Markets and arriving on set via the famous Matagurup Bridge adjacent to Optus Stadium.
The on-field footy action begins on Saturday, 14 February, from 7.00pm AEDT as the game’s biggest superstars from Victoria and Western Australia face off in front of a sold-out Optus Stadium. It marks the first State of Origin clash in more than 25 years, following the 1999 showdown between Victoria and South Australia.
Football’s #1 commentary team will lead Seven’s live coverage from Optus Stadium, featuring Brian Taylor, James Brayshaw, Kane Cornes, Luke Hodge and Abbey Holmes, with West Australian favourite and former AFL superstar Nic Naitanui on boundary.
Immediately after Seven’s AFL Origin post-game coverage, viewers can settle in for the premiere of No Holds Barred, a brand-new docuseries inside the GWS Giants’ 2025 season.
The eight-part series offers an exclusive look into the club’s 2025 AFL season, featuring stars Toby Greene, Sam Taylor, Finn Callaghan and retiree Callan Ward, along with head coach Adam Kingsley.
Following the first episode, the remaining seven episodes will be made available to stream free on 7plus Sport.
Also on Saturday night, the voice of Australian athletics, Bruce McAvaney will call all the action live from the Perth Track Classic from 8.00pm AEDT on 7plus Sport.
On Sunday, 15 February, at 11.00am on 7mate and 7plus, the Sydney Championship action revs up with the Supercars Preview Show ahead of the Round 1 in Sydney on 21-22 February. Hosted by 7NEWS Sydney’s Matt White with Mark Winterbottom and David Reynolds, the show revisits the thrilling 2025 Championship and previews the first event of the 2026 season.
Seven’s massive weekend of sport continues Sunday evening with Women’s International Cricket, as Australia returns to the world stage for the first instalment of the Australia v India International Series, the first T20 match at the Sydney Cricket Ground live and free from Sunday, 7.30pm on 7mate and 7plus Sport.
Across three weeks, the multi-format series will feature three T20s, three ODIs and a Test match at the WACA in Perth. Seven’s commentary team will broadcast live from venues across Australia, including Lisa Sthalekar, Justin Langer, Trent Copeland, Jason Richardson, Alister Nicholson, Kirby Short, Callum Ferguson, Theo Doropoulos, Kate McCarthy, Andy Maher, Emma Freedman and Elyse Villani, with Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc joining for the ODI coverage starting Tuesday, 24 February.
The sport action doesn’t stop there. Seven’s weekly horse racing coverage continues with five hours of live thoroughbred racing from Apollo Stakes Day at Royal Randwick and Black Caviar Lightning Stakes Day at Flemington, on Saturday, 14 February, from 12.00pm AEDT on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
