7NEWS presents AC/DC: The World’s Greatest Rock Band – This Sunday at 9.00pm on Seven and 7plus
In a major television event, 7NEWS goes inside the thunderous legacy of AC/DC this Sunday at 9.00pm on Seven and 7plus, telling the unbelievable story of how two brothers from suburban Sydney became one of the biggest musical acts of all time.
With their record-breaking POWER UP Australian tour kicking off in Melbourne on 12 November, AC/DC: The World’s Greatest Rock Band features extraordinary new interviews that explain how a group of outsiders became the gods of rock and roll.
From the pubs of Australia to sold-out stadia around the world, AC/DC’s story is told by those who lived it and those who worship it, including exclusive interviews with Foo Fighters founder Dave Grohl, Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist Slash, You Am I frontman Tim Rogers, Amyl and the Sniffers band members Amy Taylor and Declan Mehrtens, and Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale.
Their insights are joined by reflections from legendary music mind Molly Meldrum, AC/DC mega fan Craig Burgess, author Murray Engleheart, promoter Christo Van Egmond, and radio presenter Brendan “Jonesy” Jones.

Dave Grohl told 7NEWS:
“I think that America fell in love with AC/DC because of the power, simplicity and pure rock and roll element of their songs.”
“AC/DC has already gone down in the history books as being really the greatest… hard rock band there is,”
– said Slash, speaking exclusively to 7NEWS.
Tim Rogers said:
“AC/DC is elemental. We need food, we need water, we need fresh air. And in any emotional state you need an AC/DC record.”
The documentary also previews the POWER UP tour, which will feature Amyl and the Sniffers as special guests, plus rising local acts including The Casanovas, Large Mirage, Oscar The Wild, The Southern River Band and Headsend.
Christo Van Egmond said:
“I think it was Ticketek’s fastest selling concert on record on day one. They’ve sold millions of tickets on this tour and demand worldwide is phenomenal.”
Whether a lifelong fan or discovering AC/DC for the first time, AC/DC: The World’s Greatest Rock Band celebrates one of the biggest musical acts of all time, with over 200 million albums sold and a legacy that continues to shake the world.
