7NEWS Election Needle: another swing towards Albanese – The Seven Network’s 7NEWS has tonight released its latest Election Needle prediction, revealing a lean towards Anthony Albanese remaining as Prime Minister, if an election was held today.
This represents a small swing towards the Prime Minister, as Peter Dutton cops backlash from the electorate over his work from home policy backflip.
7NEWS Political Editor Mark Riley said: “Labor continues to have the upper hand in this campaign. Anthony Albanese remains on message and proactive, while Peter Dutton has backflipped on his work from home policy, causing angst among female voters. This shift has only strengthened the perception that Albanese is the more stable choice.”
7NEWS ELECTION NEEDLE:
The 7NEWS Election Needle is based on expert analysis and data from a team of more than one dozen journalists, statisticians, political scientists and researchers, led by veteran 7NEWS Political Editor Mark Riley, with leading political scientists Dr Simon Jackman and Dr Luke Mansillo.
It’s informed by weekly data of every poll across the country, collated by respected research company Painted Dog Research.
It indicates who is in the best position at any given moment to form government, cutting through information overload to give Australians an immediate pulse-check on the upcoming Federal Election.
On election night, the Needle will move in real-time to call victory between the Labor Party and the Coalition first.
