MOVIE | Father, Mother, Sister, Brother trailer – Madman Entertainment is delighted to be releasing the award-winning film FATHER, MOTHER, SISTER, BROTHER in Australian cinemas from April 2.
Directed by Jim Jarmusch (Patterson, Only Lovers Left Alive, Night on Earth), this quietly moving and bittersweet meditation on family life that is a return to Jim’s roots of intimate, character-driven storytelling.
The film won the Golden Lion (Best Film) at the Venice Film Festival, and features an all-star cast including Cate Blanchett, Adam Driver, Charlotte Rampling, Tom Waits, Vicky Krieps, Mayim Bialik, Indya Moore and Luka Sabbat.
Synopsis: FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER is a feature film, though carefully constructed in the form of a triptych. The three stories all concern the relationships between adult children, their somewhat distant parent (or parents), and each other. Each of the three chapters takes place in the present, and each in a different country.
FATHER is set in the Northeast US, MOTHER in Dublin, Ireland, and SISTER BROTHER in Paris, France. The Film is a series of character studies, quiet, observational and nonjudgmental – a comedy, but interwoven with threads of melancholy.
