MOVIE | Damon Gameau’s Future Council in Australian cinemas August – Madman Entertainment is delighted to announce Damon Gameau will take part in live Q&A events across Australia throughout July ahead of the release of the inspiring documentary FUTURE COUNCIL on August 7.
Joining Gameau on stage at select stops along the way will be Future Council member and talented musician, Ruby Rodgers (granddaughter of Jimmy Barnes), whose cover of Coldplay’s Fix You appears in the trailer. Ruby’s debut EP Crisis has recently released via EMI Australia / Universal Music.
From the creators of That Sugar Film and 2040, FUTURE COUNCIL is an inspiring and rollicking journey following Gameau as he invites eight passionate, curious and very funny children on an epic adventure across Europe in a vegetable-oil-powered school bus.
Their mission is to better understand the planet’s predicaments, explore solutions and to take the conversation off the streets and into the boardrooms of some of the world’s most influential companies.
The film brims with youthful enthusiasm, displaying an empowering and entertaining look at youth-led discussions of ecological issues and how the up-and-coming generation view these issues in their own lives. It provides a fresh perspective for audiences to energise and engage with, and encourages participation in change.
Future Council is a child-led movement that inspires and empowers young people to lead. Supported by trusted adults, it helps establish Future Councils in schools around the world – and connects those councils together – supporting a community of brilliant young leaders and changemakers. It also facilitates collaboration with businesses, so the council members have input on sustainable initiatives and co-design regenerative products that benefit their future.
Any young person between the ages of 9 and 16 can join Future Council. It’s an opportunity to connect with like-minded peers, learn from world leading experts, and make a real difference in the world. Future Council will launch in August, coinciding with the FUTURE COUNCIL film release in cinemas.
