UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 draws near with record already in sight – Anticipation is growing with UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 now just one month away and all the action will be shown exclusively on Optus Sport in Australia.
This year’s tournament will be taking place in picturesque Switzerland with England out to defend the title they claimed in dramatic fashion three years ago.
The Lionesses beat eight-time winners Germany in a dramatic 2022 final that went to extra time before Chloe Kelly’s late strike sealed an iconic moment at Wembley.
A record crowd of just over 87,000 fans were in attendance for that clash and UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 is on track to smash the tournament’s overall attendance record.
Switzerland is hoping to sell out every match for the tournament with 550,000 tickets already sold – only 25,000 tickets shy of the record set in 2022.
That unprecedented support is set to have a huge impact on and off the pitch.

“Two years ago, this was just a dream. Now we’re just weeks away from kick-off,”
– Sandra Felix, Director of the Federal Office for Sport in Switzerland, said recently.
“This tournament is a major opportunity to raise the profile of women’s football, and women’s sport in general, in Switzerland.”
UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has also said:
“The impact of WEURO 2025 extends far beyond the competition itself.
“With record prize money and unprecedented interest from sponsors, the tournament will bring more investment into the women’s game than ever before.
“Additionally, significant funding has been dedicated to legacy projects in Switzerland, ensuring that the benefits of hosting extend well beyond the final whistle.”
Hosts Switzerland will certainly be one team to keep a close eye on as they look to reach the knockout stages of the tournament for the first time.
UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 will consist of 31 matches with the tournament kicking off on July 3 before the final takes place on July 28. You can watch every match live and exclusive on Optus Sport in Australia.
