UEFA EURO 2024™ on Optus Sport Spain Defeat England 2-1 To Be Crowned European Champions – Spain have broken England hearts with a late winner four minutes from time to secure a 2-1 win in the EURO 2024 final.
In a game of few chances with both sides showing each other a lot of respect, Spain produced the more clear-cut chances and were deserved winners.
After a cagey first half, the second half exploded into life with Spain’s young superstars combining as Lamine Yamal opened up the England defence for Nico Williams to slot home and put Spain in control.
As they have done throughout the EURO 2024 knockout stages, England fought back and deservedly pulled level when substitute Ollie Watkins passed to fellow substitute Cole Palmer who calmly slotted the ball into the far corner to bring England level.
With the game evenly poised and seemingly headed for extra-time, it was substitute Mikel Oyarzabal who slid in on the end of a slick move to poke the ball past England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to crown Spain as champions of Europe for a record fourth time.
