Episode One: 48 Hours In Trieste
Our quartet of minibreaks starts in Trieste, where Alan Davies accompanies Joe Lycett in northern Italy. They soak up the history of this former major seaport of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from the moment they check in to their heritage hotel, housed in a former insurance company.
Episode Two: 48 Hours In Lapland
Joe Lycett and guest Desiree Birch head to Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland, on the edge of the Arctic Circle, for some snow-filled shenanigans. The city is the official home of Santa Claus, but as Joe emphatically declares, more than once, ‘this is not a Christmas special!’
