Rogue Heroes on SBS – From the creators of Peaky Blinders, Rogue Heroes is a dramatised account of how the world’s greatest Special Forces unit, the SAS, was formed under extraordinary circumstances in the darkest days of WWII.
The series centres on David Stirling, an eccentric young officer, who is hospitalised after a training exercise gone wrong. Convinced that traditional commando units do not work, Stirling creates a radical plan that flies in the face of all accepted rules of modern warfare.
Portraying David Stirling is actor Connor Swindells, best known for his role as Adam Groff in Sex Education and for drama series Vigil. He will be joined by Skins actor Jack O’Connell as Paddy Mayne, Game of Thrones’ Alfie Allen as Jock Lewes, The Wire’s Dominic West as Lieutenant Colonel Wrangel Clarke and Atomic Blonde star Sofia Boutella as Eve.
Series One, Episode Six:
Stirling attends a glittering cocktail party at the British Embassy in Cairo held in honour of the visiting Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. Churchill confides to Stirling that the SAS new brand of warfare is now needed more than ever.
Malta is under siege and Churchill needs to ensure his relief convoys make it through or Malta will fall, and Africa will be lost. Churchill extends the SAS remit to include the Mediterranean south coast right across to Greece and instructs Stirling to do whatever it takes.
Rogue Heroes – Final Episode – Wednesday, 10 May at 9.30pm on SBS and SBS on Demand (6 Parts)
