In the third instalment of The Alliance Season 3 premiering this Sunday at 9pm AEDT, Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood explores the impact of Australia’s strong global relationships on our nation’s ability to navigate the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As the world continues to battle Covid-19 infections, Ross Greenwood speaks to a range of experts for an insight into how the medical and scientific communities are working together to better prepare for future global pandemics and vaccine rollouts, and where could our next viral threat come from?

Experts explore how they believe the next pandemic could begin including Professor Raina MacIntyre, Head, Global Biosecurity & Biosecurity Program, Kirby Institute who said: “There’s obviously the risk of animal spill over events. That’s always been a threat throughout history, and things like climate change are making that threat greater.”

This week’s episode will feature interviews with Federal Health Minister Mark Butler, Pfizer Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, Anne Harris, former Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Nick Coatsworth, AMA President, Professor Steve Robson, Head of Global Biosecurity and Biosecurity Program at the Kirby Institute, Professor Raina MacIntyre and Pfizer’s Vice President of Global Vaccines, Biotechnology and Sterile Injectable Manufacturing Sciences and Technology, David Sullivan.
