Sky News Antisemitism Summit – Live coverage Thursday 20 February – Sky News has announced a special broadcast event the Sky News Antisemitism Summit will be held on Thursday 20 February.
Co-organised and hosted by award-winning Sky News investigative journalist Sharri Markson, together with Co-Chief Executive of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry Alex Ryvchin, the timely summit will bring together current and former political leaders, law enforcement chiefs, policymakers, legal experts, and Jewish community leaders, who will discuss and develop tangible solutions to combat the rising tide of antisemitism so that all Australians may live freely and safely.
Joining the esteemed line-up of speakers and panellists at this important event NSW Premier Chris Minns, Leader of the Opposition Peter Dutton, Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus representing the Albanese Government, former Prime Minister John Howard, Australia’s Antisemitism Special Envoy Jillian Segal and survivors of the Holocaust.
In an era marked by growing acts of intolerance and discrimination since the events of October 7, the summit will feature panel discussions on a broad range of pressing topics including law and order and what more needs to be done to stop the acts of violence against the Jewish community, antisemitism and its impact on the arts and culture in Australia and the role of our educational institutions in the fight against antisemitism.
Also joining the panel discussions, Sky News Anchor Chris Kenny and Sky News Reporter Caroline Marcus.

Sky News Host Sharri Markson said:
“Australia is no longer as safe as it once was for Jews. This is a travesty that we can’t accept as the new norm. Over 16 months, authorities have underestimated or downplayed the extent of the problem, which is now deep rooted. This summit is urgently needed to create actionable outcomes to ensure Australia is a peaceful country for all its citizens.”
Co-Chief Executive of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry Alex Ryvchin said:
“Our nation is in a dark place and this summit has the capacity to lead us out. This will be a non-partisan and honest examination of where we as a society have failed and what needs to be done to restore Australia’s standing as a peaceful, tolerant country.
“I am confident this summit will lead to decisive outcomes which can form the basis of public policy to allow the Jewish people to once again live freely. I am deeply grateful to Sharri for spearheading this initiative and to Sky News for shining a light on what Australia has become and our collective responsibility to change course.”
Chief Executive Officer of Sky News Australia Paul Whittaker said:
“Antisemitism is an insidious scourge on society and completely at odds with Australian values – it must be stamped out. As history has shown, words matter, and we cannot let acts of prejudice and intolerance go unchallenged.
“The Antisemitism Summit will bring together thought leaders from across politics, law enforcement and the judiciary, business and the arts to tackle the significant issues facing the Jewish community, for we all have a responsibility to call out antisemitism for what it is and demand that our leaders do the same.”
Further details regarding the speaker line-up will be announced soon.
