Next, she steps back in time at The Courthouse Hotel, a historic pub dating back to the Gold Rush era, where a classic menu and warm service offers a true taste of Melbourne’s past. Bridget wraps up her visit at Bear’s Wine Bar, a cosy, heritage-listed terrace turned intimate spot for great wine, shared plates and relaxed conversation.
Brodie Harper discovers the relaxed, family-friendly charm of Chelsea (Bunurong Country) on Melbourne’s bayside.
Chelsea Beach, a peaceful, 1.5-kilometre stretch of sand with calm, shallow waters, is perfect for the little ones. A stroll away in the neighbouring suburb of Edithvale, she visits the retro-style café and corner shop, the Edithvale General Store. Then Brodie heads to Beatball Australia in Chelsea Heights, an energetic indoor venue where trampolines and team sports collide providing fun for kids and grown-ups alike.
Jelena Dokic takes viewers around culture-rich suburban Northcote (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country) beginning at bakery Akimbo Bread. From there she heads to the Merri Creek Trail, a scenic route for walkers and cyclists that winds through the leafy landscape.
Jelena returns to High Street to visit Free to Feed, a social enterprise connecting refugees and locals through the universal language of food.Â
And Livinia Nixon catches up with host of The Floor, Rodger Corser in Fitzroy (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country), strolling down memory lane along Brunswick Street to the Blackcat Café, one of Melbourne’s longest-standing coffee spots and a favourite of Rodger’s since his uni days.
From there they explore the storied live music scene, stopping by The Evelyn to reminisce about Rodger’s time hosting pub trivia and playing in local bands. They wrap things up at the revamped Punters Club, where he reflects on its legacy and how venues like this continue to shape Melbourne’s music culture.Â
