Shane Delia takes viewers on a culinary CBD adventure through Hardware Lane (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). He kicks off at the modern and new Mexican restaurant, Hotel Nacionale, which has two epic rooftop bars and serves a 100% gluten-free dining menu. From Mexico to Japan in just over a minute, Shane heads to Katsuhon to enjoy some delicious katsu. Then he finishes with South American cuisine at Palermo, an Argentinian steakhouse.Â
Madeline Spark explores the charming town of Birregurra (Gulidjan and Wathaurong Country) nestled in the Otways, an hour and a half’s drive from Melbourne. She begins at Birre Home, a boutique store brimming with locally made homewares and joyful gifts. She visits the soon-to-open tasting room of the Otways Distillery. Finally, Madeline stops by Birregurra Grocer, a cosy café and larder offering local produce, delicious meals and fine regional wines.Â
Meanwhile Livinia Nixon shops and dines up a storm along Bridge Road in Richmond (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country).
First up, she checks out House of Handmade and meets Stef Panaccio, the creative owner whose passion for all things handmade and local led to this beautifully curated store. She then heads to Cookatoo Kitchen for some delicious Thai-inspired vegan food, before ending her day at the Mount View Hotel.Â
And Lauren Phillips seeks the best seaside lunch options in Williamstown (also Bunurong Country), a short drive from Melbourne. At the Off the Pier Fish & Chippery, a local favorite famed for perfectly cooked fish and crispy golden chips, she finds an excellent spot for a picnic by the water.
Next she heads to The Kiosk by d’Asporto, where classic beachside bites meet authentic Italian street food, from handmade focaccias to homemade choc tops. Lauren winds up at the historic Morning Star Hotel, which has been newly updated while maintaining its old-world charm, complete with a beer garden and a menu of top pub grub.
