Meet four familiar faces of the Moreton Bay community in this week’s special episode of My Way, Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
First up, viewers are introduced to the chairman of the NRL’s newest team, Bob Jones from the Redcliffe Dolphins. After a proud history with the club starting out as a player himself, having three sons who followed in his footsteps and now several grandchildren doing the same, Bob was a major force in the epic journey that has made the Dolphins the 17th team in the world’s toughest rugby league competition.
Viewers then run with Andy Almond on the Redcliffe Peninsula. After recoiling from a photo taken on a family holiday showing how much he’d let himself go, Andy decided to turn his life around and started running. As a result, he became a pillar of the local running community and plays an integral part in the annual 10km Jetty 2 Jetty, the longest running fun-run event in Australia, which draws thousands to the region.
While taking a scenic helicopter flight over Moreton Bay, Rob Comiskey fell in love with a block of land he described as the best property in Australia. After years of longing to take ownership the property became available, and the Sandstone Point Hotel was built. Later being voted Australia’s Best Hotel in 2022, customers soak up pristine views of the Pumicestone Passage and Bribie Island while enjoying world-class live music, great food and even better times.
Finally, we meet entrepreneur-at-heart Jason Brown, who was burnt out working in the gas industry. Fast-forward a couple of much-needed career changes and he finally has his dream job, operating G’Day Adventure Tours, Bribie Island’s highlight 4WD attraction. Jason spends his days exploring Bribie’s beautiful landscapes and introducing guests to the wildlife that inhabits the sand island.
The national encore edition of My Way will go to air on Saturday, March 18, at 1.00pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
