Queensland’s creative generation celebrates 20 years of inspiring young talent on Channel 9 – Queensland’s premier arts education program, Creative Generation, celebrates its landmark 20th anniversary this year, and Channel 9 and 9Now are marking this milestone with a weekend of special broadcasts that highlight the program’s lasting impact on young artists and the arts community.
The programming kicks off this Saturday from 3.00pm AEST, with a special documentary taking viewers behind the scenes of Creative Generation and tracing the evolution of this remarkable initiative, led by Queensland’s Department of Education.
Focused on the students who bring the event to life, the broadcast reflects on the dedication, teamwork and collective spirit that have defined Creative Generation from its humble beginnings to the thriving tradition it is today. Highlights will be the vital roles of music, dance and drama in nurturing the next generation of Queensland’s artists.
Creative Generation, a small-scale initiative at its inception, has grown into a flagship event, embodying Queensland’s enduring commitment to artistic excellence and fostering a culture of creativity across the state. The celebration continues on Sunday, November 17, from 2.00pm AEST with a full broadcast of the Creative Generation 2024 performance. Featuring more than 2,000 students from primary schools statewide, this two-hour spectacular will show the extraordinary talent of young performers in music, dance and drama, celebrating the transformative power of the arts.
