Postcards on Channel 9 – Join the Postcards team this week as they continue exploring Melbourne’s best entertainment and dining venues, Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Kris Smith goes backstage for Cirque du Soleil’s latest production, the Mexican inspired Luzia, under the big top at Flemington Racecourse (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). He meets the performers and crew behind the impressive show and finds out what it’s like to run away with the circus. Keeping the Mexican theme going, Kris then heads down the road for a bite to eat at Burrito Bae.
Madeline Spark explores Pakington Street in Geelong West (Wathaurong Country). First up, she stops by Poco Cafe Express to meet the owners and enjoy a serving of their famous croissant pudding. Then she checks out The Garage Geelong, a popular vintage market, before settling in for a ripper pub feed across the road at the recently refurbished Petrel Hotel.
Meanwhile, Brodie Harper enjoys a day’s drive to Mirboo North in Gippsland (Boonwurrung and Kurnai Country).
After sitting down for brunch at Lamezleighs Coffee House and Eatery she heads down the main street to Mirboo North Artspace, where regional artists showcase their artworks, before learning how to make a delectable country vanilla slice with Jaci at Jacican Cooking School.
And, we find Shane Delia uncovering some fun-focused locals in Fitzroy North who put their own spin on the suburb’s food scene (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). Like Alex Courtney-Hatcher from Hatcher Baker, who makes bread and sweets at his home in his microbakery and does deliveries for customers on his bicycle. Shane also ducks into the popular acai bar, Lovabowl, before enjoying an Italian feast at Pinotta.
