Postcards on Channel 9 – Join the Postcards team this week as they make their way from the city to the Yarra Valley, giving viewers the best in dining, entertainment and travel around Victoria at 5.30pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Shane Delia takes a culinary trip through Ballarat (Wathaurong Country), starting at Cafe Merkama, its first African and Ethiopian restaurant, where he catches up with owner Temam Hussen. He then heads to Ragazzone for some Italian before sampling some modern Asian flavours at Mr Jones Dining and chatting with its acclaimed chef, Damien Jones.Â
Brodie Harper is in Tarrawarra and Healesville (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country), enjoying the best in art, food and wine. She starts at the TarraWarra Museum of Art with the curator, Anthony Fitzpatrick, who shows her the latest exhibition, TarraWarra Biennial 2023.
From there she heads to Cheesemonger Sophie in Healesville, a fromagerie that specialises in a huge range of international cheeses. Brodie finishes with wine and pizza at the Innocent Bystander, an urban-style cellar door, restaurant and bar.  Â
This week Livinia Nixon checks out & Juliet the Musical at the Regent Theatre (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). She catches up with Casey Donovan who plays Angelique, to hear what people can expect from the exciting new production, as well as Amy Lehpamer (Anne) and Lorinda May Merrypor (Juliet) who take her inside their characters. After the musical Livinia heads to Dame, a modern cafe with a retro feel, for a caesar salad, their most popular dish.Â
Meanwhile, eight kilometres out of the CBD, Lauren Phillips explores the new Pentridge Precinct in Coburg (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). She learns about Pentridge’s history as a prison and the transformation of the B Division wing into a dining and entertainment venue with Liinaa Berry, sommelier for the Olivine wine bar.
They tour the Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne, before Lauren checks out the precinct’s food and beverage offerings, starting with North and Common, a cosy, fire-lit restaurant in the prison’s mess hall. Her visit ends with wine and a bite to eat at Olivine.Â
