In Melbourne, Todd Woodbridge catches up with Kate Ceberano for a tour of her favourite places to wine and dine. First up is Supernormal on Flinders Lane, where they sample lobster rolls and scallops, before heading to Melbourne Town Hall, where Kate’s concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will be held on September 28. Their day winds up at Guy Grossi’s Florentino with a drink at the Cellar Bar.
We find Livinia Nixon at the Princess Theatre in the heart of the CBD (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country) for the new Harry Potter play. She enjoys a backstage tour with cast member Hannah Fredricksen who plays Moaning Myrtle and Lachlan Woods (Draco Malfoy). Livinia then dines at Lillian Brasserie, one of Melbourne’s newest elegant restaurants.
Madeline Spark is on a road trip to Wallington in the Bellarine Peninsula (Wathaurong Country). She discovers a hidden gem, Ket Baker, an artisan bakery and catches up with French-trained chef Miek Paulus.
Down the road she drops into the Manor Suite Wine Bar, which is set amid acres of grapevines, and chats to owner Marty Chichester about its recent makeover. Madeline finishes at the neighbouring suburb of Ocean Grove, where Feed Me Bellarine – founded by passionate local Lana Purcell – turns leftovers into meals for those in need.
Meanwhile Kris Smith is in Cockatoo (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country), taking a stroll through the Wright Forest which has a network of beautiful walking tracks. After working up an appetite he visits Chae, a very intimate six-seat Korean restaurant run in the home of Yoora and Chae, and also munches on a juicy burger at Chieftains Smokehouse.
