July on Optus Sport – The wait is finally over! July sees the start of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ in Australia and New Zealand, with Optus Sport the only place where you can watch every game live.
It all begins on July 20, when hosts New Zealand play Norway in the first game of the tournament before the big one: the Matildas against Ireland at a sold-out Stadium Australia.
It’s the first of three Matildas games you can catch on Optus Sport in July, with the Aussies backing up their opener against Ireland with their match against Nigeria on July 27 before they wrap up the group stage with a colossal battle against Canada on July 31.
But it’s not just the Matildas in action on Optus Sport in July – European champions England are also in action and so are back-to-back world champions USA, who have a replay of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019™ final against the Netherlands in their second game on July 27.
Spain, Brazil, Germany and France are some of the other big teams to look out for in what is the biggest FIFA Women’s World Cup ever with 32 teams competing for the first time in its history.
Outside of the festival of football in Australia, there is also J.League action live on Optus Sport as two Aussies continue their battle at the top of the league.
Kevin Muscat is looking to lead his Yokohama F.Marinos side to back-to-back titles but is fighting off a strong challenge from former Socceroos goalkeeper Mitch Langerak and his Nagoya Grampus side.
We’ve also got live K League and a first look at the 2023/24 Premier League season with the Premier League Summer Series pre-season tournament.
It sees Chelsea, Brighton, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Brentford and Fulham all play against each other in nine games over eight days, kicking off on July 23.
