In the grip of a heatwave, Pete (Stephen Peacocke) and the team face a grilling from Eliza (Emma Hamilton) as she investigates the White Cliffs incident. Tensions continue to flare when Eliza and Pete butt heads transporting a highly contagious patient in stifling PPE, as Pete’s growing crisis of confidence reaches a zenith.
Meanwhile Wayne’s (Rob Collins) life is thrown upside down when a routine callout to a seizing patient at a remote hospital takes a harrowing, personal turn, as he
discovers that a second patient, neglected and in dire need of care, is close family.
A reeling Leonie (Justine Clarke) meanwhile is in the grip of menopausal upheaval, and finds herself lashing out at the very people she needs most of all, only to be shocked by an unexpected reality check from the man who always has her back – Graham (Rodney Afif).

The series opens with the arrival of the new Senior Medical Officer Dr Eliza Harrod (Emma Hamilton). After a successful career as an Emergency Physician at a London Hospital, Eliza arrives with her teenage son Henry (Ash Hodgkinson), determined to escape her past and start a new life.
