STORYLINE RUNDOWN: EPISODE 5
JOHANNA + PETE – LIVE WORK SHARE HOUSE
If this house were an actor, it would be called a triple-threat; it’s a place for living, working and sharing. The multi-award winning LiveWorkShare House on the outskirts of Brisbane is a prototype for how to live sustainably and make the most of a suburban block amid skyrocketing building costs. The architects designed and built their own home to maximise inside space, while still leaving enough room outside to make the most of the Brisbane sun. Despite only covering less than half their 600 square metre block, there’s still room for a self-contained granny flat for guests. This could well be the future of the suburban home.
ADAM – JEN MALLINSON, SCULPTOR
Adam meets a talented artist, Jen Mallinson in her hometown of Bega. After a career in graphic design, she picked up the blowtorch and sparks flew. Working with stainless steel and core ten steel, Jen’s work features many graphical elements inspired by the bucolic countryside she’s surrounded by and honed by her design background. Her works have gone everywhere, with smaller pieces being bought by private collectors and some larger works being commissioned by councils to beautify their towns. And of course, being a hands-on guy, Adam gets a chance to help create a little sculpture of his own.
ADAM – MAGNETIC ATTRACTION
It’s so annoying when you knock over a box of screws of nails and then have the tedious task of picking them all up. Well, Adam’s here to remind you of the simplest solution and it’s so basic you’ll wonder why you haven’t done it before.

It’s easier than you think. So, if like Ed you’ve always wanted to visit this tropical island paradise, settling for this dish will be a pretty good consolation.
FAST ED – COCOS ISLANDS KUIH KUIH MELAYU (SWEET POTATO PUDDING)
