The best summer of cricket starts this Sunday on Seven – Aussie women’s cricket team set to continue winning streak on home soil.
It’s time for the nation’s most decorated team, the Australian women’s cricket team, to launch the greatest summer of cricket ever on the Seven Network on Sunday when they take on the West Indies in the first of six blockbuster white-ball matches.
With an all-star line-up captained by Alyssa Healy, who will lead the team out onto North Sydney Oval on Sunday in what will be her 250th match in the green and gold, the Aussies are the world’s undisputed #1 team having recently retained the Ashes in the UK.
Over the next two weeks on Seven, they will battle for world supremacy in a three-match T20 international series and a three-match ODI series against a youthful West Indies side with a new Australian coach to spearhead their campaign.
The live and free action begins at 12.00pm AEDT Sunday on Channel 7 and 7mate with the opening match of the T20I series, and kicks off the start of a sensational 2023-24 summer of cricket on Seven:
- Thursday 19 October to Saturday 2 December – WBBL
- Thursday 7 December to Wednesday 24 January – BBL
- Thursday 14 December to Sunday 7 January – Australia v Pakistan Men’s Test Series
- Wednesday 17 January to Monday 29 January – Australia v West Indies Men’s Test Series
- Saturday 27 January – Sunday 18 February – Australia v South Africa Women’s International Series
7SPORT’s Emma Freedman joins cricket’s #1 commentary team, which for the women’s international summer features Lisa Sthalekar, Holly Ferling, Erin Holland, Elyse Villani, Brad Hodge, Jason Richardson, Andy Maher, Alister Nicholson, Kirsten Short, Emma Inglis and Trent Copeland live from the ground for every match in the series.
Head of Network Sport and Managing Director Seven Melbourne, Lewis Martin, said:
“There’s no better way to open Seven’s summer of cricket than with Australia’s most successful sporting team: our national women’s cricket team. Their showdown with the West Indies across both formats will be a heroic contest.
“That’s just the start of a sensational summer of cricket on Seven. With reinvigorated, shortened and power packed WBBL and BBL seasons featuring the biggest names in the game, coupled with the history and reverence of the men’s and women’s summer Test series, it’s going to be the greatest ever season on Your Home of Cricket.”
