Prime Minister declared winner of 7NEWS Leaders’ Debate by 60 undecided voters – Anthony Albanese has been declared the winner of the 7NEWS Leaders’ Debate by 60 undecided voters, during a special 7NEWS Spotlight tonight on Seven and 7plus.
Fifty per cent of the voters in the 7NEWS Jury Room sided with Anthony Albanese, Peter Dutton received 25% of the votes, and 25% remain undecided.
The 60 undecided voters were independently selected by a third-party source, Roy Morgan, who monitored the jury’s reaction to every single second of the debate, via electronic poll.
The voters were also quizzed on how each leader performed on six key topics: cost of living, housing, tax cuts, Indigenous affairs, defence, and their response to a selection of hot topics.
- Cost of living was a big win for the Prime Minister, with 65% of Jury Room voters siding with Anthony Albanese. Peter Dutton received 16% of the votes, and 19% were undecided.
- Housing was much closer, with Anthony Albanese receiving 35% of the votes, while Peter Dutton received 30%, and 35% of Jury Room voters remain undecided.
- When it comes to tax cuts, Anthony Albanese received 49% of the votes, Dutton received 21%, and 30% of Jury Room voters remain undecided.
- Indigenous affairs was next, with Peter Dutton receiving 46% of the votes, while Anthony Albanese received 27%, and 27% of Jury Room voters remain undecided.
- Peter Dutton won on defence, with 43% of the votes, while Anthony Albanese received 37% and 20% of Jury Room voters remain undecided.
- For the hot topics portion of the debate, Anthony Albanese received 50% of the votes, Peter Dutton received 14% and 36% of Jury Room voters remain undecided.
