Autumn Racing Carnival on Channel 7 – All Star Mile, Golden Slipper, The Championships and much more.
Some of Australian racing’s most coveted prizes are on the line over the coming weeks as the Autumn Racing Carnival heats up on the Seven Network, including the $4 million All-Star Mile at Caulfield and the 68th running of the $5 million Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens.
The Autumn Racing Carnival kicks up a gear this Saturday with a huge day of thoroughbred racing from All Star Mile Day at Caulfield and Ladies Day at Rosehill, live and free from 12pm AEDT on Seven and 7plus.
At Caulfield, defending champion Mr Brightside and Ciaron Maher’s mighty mare Pride Of Jenni are set to renew their rivalry in the $4 million All Star Mile at Caulfield, while viewers will have the chance to see parts of the Caulfield redevelopment for the very first time on Seven’s live and free broadcast.
At Rosehill, the fillies and mares will battle it out in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic on Chandon Ladies Day, where Champion trainer Chris Waller is striving for back-to-back wins with top weight and current favourite Zougotcha after taking out the race last year with Espiona.
Australia’s pre-eminent sports broadcaster Bruce McAvaney will lead racing’s undisputed #1 commentary team for Saturday’s epic day of racing, alongside Jason Richardson, Emma Freedman, Lizzie Jelfs and Kate Waterhouse.
Over the next six Saturdays, fans will enjoy the very best racing from the Sydney and Melbourne’s Autumn Carnivals live and free on Seven and 7plus, with the highlights including:
• Rosehill Golden Slipper Day, the world’s richest race for two-year-olds and one of five Group 1 races at Rosehill Gardens on 23 March
• The $3 million Australian Cup, the finale to Flemington’s Racing Spectacular, at Flemington on 30 March
• The Championships, featuring eight Group 1 races across two action-packed Saturdays at Randwick on 6 April and 13 April
Managing Director Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin, said:
“This Autumn, Seven will bring fans a spectacular feast of thoroughbred racing, elegance and fashion direct from Sydney and Melbourne.
“With the live and free coverage once again fronted by racing’s best commentary team led by the peerless Bruce McAvaney, there’s no other place racing fans will want to be than right here on Seven, Your Home of Racing.”
