As an introduction to the first night of the 2012 ratings season, Ten will screen a double episode of ‘Homeland’ on Sunday February 12th 2012 at 8:30pm. This is expected to be a one off double episode only.

NCIS

Ten will air a brand new double episode of ‘NCIS’ on Tuesday February 14th at 8:30pm. This is actually a two part episode, so it makes sense to air them together.

Glee

Ten will move ‘Glee’ to 7:30pm Fridays from February 17th due to ‘The Biggest Loser Singles’ airing a 30 minute episode from 7pm that very night. The good news is that ‘Glee’ will no longer compete with ‘Home and Away’

Network Ten has trimmed its 90 minute news bulletin to 30 minutes and will air repeats of ‘Rules of Engagement’ from 6pm effective immediately.

Nine will air the original Donald Trump series (season 7) starting near midnight on Sunday February 12th.

Nine will kick off this brand new series with a double episode on Monday February 13th at 8:30pm.

Selena Brown (pictured), the first deaf contestant, was sent back home to the Northern Territory.

The remaining contestants had the option to keep the bottom two contestants, however decided to eliminate Selena.

Selena said: “Being at Camp Biggest Loser was hard for me. I’m not used to a house full of people going through the same thing I’m experiencing. Although I had support, I still found it challenging and I was a little homesick. But, I was here for a reason and that was to become a better person.”

This is a more significant amendment than what meets the eye. The series will encore its last episode on Saturday February 4th at 6:30pm on Ten. More significantly the series will also encore at 11:30am on the same day on ELEVEN. This is significant because Ten had previously stated the ELEVEN would be a stand alone channel with ‘what plays on ELEVEN, stays on ELEVEN’ and also there would not be airings of Ten shows across the multi channel as Nine does with ‘Top Gear’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Is this a once off or a new trend?

Toasted TV

In case you missed the article in the tv news section, I can exclusively reveal that ‘Toasted TV’ will in fact NOT be axed and instead be moved to ELEVEN as soon as ‘Breakfast’ begins on the Ten main channel, which is rumoured to be late February.

Robinson and Roze will now join Paul Henry and Andrew Rochford to deliver the Network Ten breakfast offering.

In an unusual move (probably the most likely to backfire) is the return of Glee. It will air at 7pm (yes that is correct) Fridays from January 27th on Ten with all new episodes.

House

Plans to return ‘House’ to Friday nights in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth have now been abandoned by Ten with no airdate set for the show.

Dexter

ELEVEN has now confirmed that the new season of ‘Dexter’ will in fact be season five. That starts Tuesday January 24th at 9:30pm.

The Loop

That much talked about new music show on ELEVEN called ‘The Loop’ will premiere on Saturday January 28th at 9am. It will then be repeated each Saturday night at 10:30pm.

The 2011 season finale will air an encore on Wednesday January 18th at 8:30pm on Ten. This gives us the clue that the series will return the following week, perhaps in a new Wednesday slot.

It’s a Knockout

The second last episode is still scheduled for Sunday January 15th at 7:30pm on Ten. The season final was scheduled for the following night but has instead been banished to Friday January 20th at 7:30pm on Ten. That means the new series of ‘Jamie’s Summer Cooking’ will now debut that evening. Repeats of ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Rules of Engagement’ will air Monday January 16th from 7:30pm.

The season final will air Thursday January 12th at 8:30pm on Go! It is the final ever episode and I can reveal it does end of an absolute cliffhanger and we will not ever know the resolution. All episodes of the series (including any skipped ones) have aired so it is good bye to this one.

The American comedy, which premiered in September in the US, follows Jessica “Jess” Day (Zooey Deschanel), a woman in her late 20s who is trying to get over her breakup with her boyfriend after he cheats on her.

The series also stars Jake Johnson as Nick Miller, Max Greenfield as Schmidt, Lamorne Morris as Winston Bishop and Hannah Simone as Cece Meyers.

2012 Australian Open

It appears that all markets will get LIVE coverage of the 2012 Australian Open. Also coverage will continue each and every night on 7Two between 6 and 7pm while the main channel has its news and between 6pm and 7:30pm in the second week to cover ‘Home and Away’.

Home and Away

As usual the show will return during the second week of the Australian Open – this year being Monday January 23rd at 7pm on Seven.

Warehouse 13

Season final on Sunday January 22nd at 10:30pm on 7mate.

The Middle

Nine will jump forward and play the Christmas episode on Tuesday December 20th at 8pm on Nine and then revert back to being in order the following week.

Can you believe only 18 episodes were ever made of this show? The way Nine/Go bring this in and out of the schedule, you would think that there was more episodes. There are 3 episodes still to air. A missing M rated episode and then the final two episodes. The skipped M rated episode will air (fingers crossed) on Thursday December 29th at 8:30pm on Go!

Rules of Engagement

Ten will air three new episodes over the Christmas / New Year week – Monday December 26th, Tuesday December 27th and Thursday December 28th – all at 8pm. That brings us in line with America. The show end with episode 7 of 15. The show is not scheduled to return anytime soon in America, so that will be the last Ten can screen for now.

One Tree Hill

Season 7 will kick with a late amendment showing it started yestereday December 17th at 10am with episode 1 and 2. The show will continue Sundays at 10am for single episodes and Saturdays with double episodes.

The premiere episode will be broadcast on Telstra T-Box, which currently has 200,000 users, for an exclusive viewing ahead of its 2012 television launch.

Chief Programming Officer, David Mott, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Telstra on this unique initiative. Homeland has become one of the most talked about shows to come out of the US drama season.”

The gripping psychological thriller, starring Claire Danes (pictured), Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin, premieres on Network Ten in 2012.

‘Neighbours’ is back weeknights at 6:30pm on ELEVEN from January 9th.

‘Ringer’ moves to ELEVEN and will air Sundays at 10:30pm.

‘Supernatural’ is back with all new fast tracked episodes from 8:30pm.

‘Smallville’ returns to 9:30pm with the last few episodes of the final season.

‘The Office’ is back with all new episodes and the first episode back is the 1 hour length farewell episode to Steve Carrell.

One Tree Hill

Returns Sunday morning on the main channel Ten station on Sunday January 8th and will continue Saturdays as well.

Medium

I have not got any new episode news but repeats will air every night (except Saturday) from 10:30pm on Network Ten starting Sunday January 8th.

New Zealand born Simone chats about the show, the reshooting of the pilot episode, the conditions working in Queensland and what it is like acting with dinosaurs that are not really there when filming is on.

On top of that Simone (pictured) opens up about her past acting roles including the ill fated Dog Eat Dog and Undercover Angels but also the more successful stints on McLeod’s Daughters and her work on Reaper, which her episodes air this month on 7mate.

Simone chats about her talented writer and director husband Gregor who has worked with Heath Ledger at least twice and their son Jack who is enjoying the more ‘stable’ life of Australia, after moving back here from the hustle and bustle of LA.

For the record, the episode of Terra Nova that aired on Sunday December 4th is the final one for 2011. Network Ten would like the series be made available to the widest possible audience and will therefore break for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Ten assures TvCentral that the series will be back for the final 3 episodes in January 2011 but no firm date has been set.

Arena (pictured), who performed in the original series as a contestant, will take on the role of a mentor and judge this time round in the highly anticipated revamped series.

The talent quest series, most likely returning in 2012 due to the success of Australia’s Got Talent, will see new young talented performances each week.

Arena said: “I am really excited to be coming back and being involved in the re-launch of Young Talent Time. It is the ‘original’ TV talent show format – it’s unique and iconic but it’s also typically Australian”.

Arena will be joined by a currently unknown second judge. Rob Mills will host the series.

The final performance show will air Friday December 23rd at 7:30pm on ELEVEN. The final verdict which is the season final will air Christmas Eve at 7:30pm.

Psych / Burn Notice / Blue Bloods

As there is only the season final episode remaining of ‘Psych’ for Monday December 26th, One will air that at 7:30pm. However, being Boxing Day, the channel will air repeat episodes of ‘Burn Notice’ and ‘Blue Bloods’ that night. Here is hoping that they air the next season of ‘Psych’ straight away.
