The South Australian took the temptation and departed the series with $30,000. While he left with more money, James’ team were unimpressed as he let the team down.

James said: “I really do appreciate my position here at The Biggest Loser, it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it’s something that I do cherish, but at the same time I needed to think about my life outside of here when it’s over.

“I can’t just think about my physical life, but I have to consider my financial life outside of Camp Biggest Loser.”

Homeland

As an introduction to the first night of the 2012 ratings season, Ten will screen a double episode of ‘Homeland’ on Sunday February 12th 2012 at 8:30pm. This is expected to be a one off double episode only.

NCIS

Ten will air a brand new double episode of ‘NCIS’ on Tuesday February 14th at 8:30pm. This is actually a two part episode, so it makes sense to air them together.

Glee

Ten will move ‘Glee’ to 7:30pm Fridays from February 17th due to ‘The Biggest Loser Singles’ airing a 30 minute episode from 7pm that very night. The good news is that ‘Glee’ will no longer compete with ‘Home and Away’

Ten News Saturday / Rules of Engagement

Network Ten has trimmed its 90 minute news bulletin to 30 minutes and will air repeats of ‘Rules of Engagement’ from 6pm effective immediately.

The Celebrity Apprentice

Nine will air the original Donald Trump series (season 7) starting near midnight on Sunday February 12th.

Alcatraz

Nine will kick off this brand new series with a double episode on Monday February 13th at 8:30pm.

Person of Interest

The series will resume in the first season from 10:30pm Monday February 13th at 10:30pm on Nine.

Two and a Half Men

The series returns with a double episode (both new) at 8:30pm Tuesday February 14th at 8:30pm on Nine.

Sherlock

The first of three new telemovies will air on Nine from Wednesday February 15th at 8:30pm on Nine.

CSI

The original series will air two new episodes back to back on Thursday February 16th at 8:30pm on Nine.

CSI: New York

The series is now pushed back to 10:30pm on Thursday February 16th on Nine.

Southland

Double episode season final from 11:30pm on Thursday February 16th on Nine.

Ringer

With ‘Smallville’ now completely finished, ‘Ringer’ will join ‘Supernatural’ on Mondays from February 20th at 9:30pm on ELEVEN.

Selena Brown (pictured), the first deaf contestant, was sent back home to the Northern Territory.

The remaining contestants had the option to keep the bottom two contestants, however decided to eliminate Selena.

Selena said: “Being at Camp Biggest Loser was hard for me. I’m not used to a house full of people going through the same thing I’m experiencing. Although I had support, I still found it challenging and I was a little homesick. But, I was here for a reason and that was to become a better person.”

New Season: Border Security, The Force, Bones, Castle, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, 30 Rock

Out: Happy Endings

Homeland

Episode 2, which was pitted against the Australian Open Men’s Final will have an encore tonight (January 31st) at 9:30pm on Ten.

Young Talent Time

This is a more significant amendment than what meets the eye. The series will encore its last episode on Saturday February 4th at 6:30pm on Ten. More significantly the series will also encore at 11:30am on the same day on ELEVEN. This is significant because Ten had previously stated the ELEVEN would be a stand alone channel with ‘what plays on ELEVEN, stays on ELEVEN’ and also there would not be airings of Ten shows across the multi channel as Nine does with ‘Top Gear’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Is this a once off or a new trend?

Border Security – Australia’s Front Line

New episodes will screen from 7:30pm on Sunday February 5th on Seven.

The Force – Behind the Line

New episodes will screen from 8pm on Sunday February 5th on Seven.

Bones

New episodes will screen from 8:30pm on Sunday February 5th on Seven.

Castle

New episodes will screen from 9:30pm on Sunday February 5th on Seven.

Please Marry My Boy

The show will continue for an additional week at 8:30pm Monday (Feb 6th) on Seven, but as previously stated it will move the following week, which is the official start of the ratings period. The first episode will encore at 2pm Monday February 6th on Seven.

Happy Endings

Just a quick note that plans to screen all new ‘Happy Endings’ starting Feb 8th have been scrapped for now in favour of a repeat of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ at 10:30pm on Seven.

Grey’s Anatomy

New episodes will screen from 8:30pm on Thursday February 9th on Seven. The finale from last season will screen at midday on the same day.

Private Practice

New episodes will screen from 10:30pm on Thursday February 9th on Seven.

30 Rock

New episodes will screen from 11:30pm on Thursday February 9th on Seven.

Castle

Before we start the new season of ‘Castle’, Channel 7 will encore the previous season finale on Sunday January 29th at 8:30pm in Perth, 9:30pm in Brisbane, 10pm in Adelaide and 10:30pm in Sydney and Melbourne. These times are subject to change due to the live nature of the 2012 Australian Open Final.

My Kitchen Rules

The show will air 4 nights per week (Monday to Thursday) from Monday January 30th at 7:30pm on Seven.

Please Marry My Boy

The show will premiere on Monday January 30th at the special time of 8:30pm on Seven. I am receiving information though that the series will move to 9:30pm Tuesdays the following week but this is to be confirmed.

How I Met Your Mother

Brand new double episodes will air at the odd time slot of Mondays 9:30pm from January 30th on Seven.

Sports Fever

This little gem will premiere at 10:45pm Monday January 30th on Seven, but then should settle into a 10:30 slot thereafter.

The Marriage Ref

Seven have been sitting on this one for almost 2 years but now this rather funny panel show with Jerry Seinfeld will find the light of day starting Tuesday January 31st at 11:05pm.

Desperate Housewives

The seventh season ender will encore on Thursday February 2nd at 12 noon on Seven. The brand new eighth and final season will begin with a special double episode on the same night at 8:30pm, but then move to 9:30pm the following week.

Better Homes and Gardens

The 18th season kicks off with a 90 minute episode on Friday February 3rd at 7:30pm on Seven. This time slot is expected to last less than 2 months as the show should move to Thursdays when the AFL season kicks off in late March.

Sunday Night

Chris Bath is back with an all new season of this popular current affairs show starting a week before the official start to ratings – February 5th 6:30pm.

Nothing Trivial

This NZ series season final has been moved to Sunday January 29th at 10:30pm on Nine/WIN.

The Mentalist

Previous guides suggested that new season would begin January 30th but instead a double repeat will air at 9pm that night on Nine. The new season begins Monday February 6th at 9pm.

Harry’s Law

Just a reminder that this terrific series will air at 11pm on Monday January 30th on Nine with episode 11. The show has gone on hiatus in America and will not return until March 18th, but Nine has one additional episode up their sleeve that they can air after the January 30th episode.

Damages

The third season will still premiere on Nine/WIN but now just later – midnight on Monday January 30th.

Two and a Half Men

The new season with Ashton Kutcher returns to Nine on Tuesday February 7th at 8:30pm followed by a repeat at 9pm.

Dark Blue

If anyone remembers this series starring Dylan McDermott that aired on GEM first, you can now catch an all new second season on Nine from Wednesday February 8th at midnight.

Australia’s Funniest Home Videos

The show is back with an all new season starting Saturday February 11th at 6:30pm on Nine/WIN.

A Gifted Man

The first episode will be encored on Sunday January 29th at 9:30pm on Ten.

The Glades

Ten has kindly kept the show on air since there is only 2 episodes to air in season 1. The first of the two will air Monday January 30th at 10:30pm and the second one a week later in the same slot.

Undercover Boss USA

Ten will fast track the new season of this show starting Saturday February 4th at 7:30pm.

An Idiot Abroad – The Bucket List

The second season of this show will air 9:30pm Saturdays from February 4th on Ten.

House

Previous reports that ‘House’ would air Sunday nights from February 5th are not correct. The show will air at a later date.

Bondi Rescue

The all new season will begin on Monday February 6th at 8pm on Ten.

Smallville

The final EVER episode of this 10 year run series will air Monday February 13th at 9:30pm on ELEVEN.

The Office

The seventh season comes to a close on Tuesday February 7th at 9pm on ELEVEN. The good news is that the channel will then move straight into the eighth season on Tuesday February 14th at 9pm. After so many years of being seasons behind America, ELEVEN will be airing episodes from the same season that is currently airing in America. The episode airing here on February 14th aired only 5 month earlier in America. Come May and we will be only a few episodes behind.

Toasted TV

In case you missed the article in the tv news section, I can exclusively reveal that ‘Toasted TV’ will in fact NOT be axed and instead be moved to ELEVEN as soon as ‘Breakfast’ begins on the Ten main channel, which is rumoured to be late February.

At the unusual timeslot of 7pm Fridays from January 27th, Network Ten will be hoping that ‘Glee’ can find an audience with less competition.

However, will the new timeslot backfire?

All new ‘Glee’ returns Friday January 27th at 7pm on Ten.

Late Night on Ten

TEN will turn to repeats of its previous hits in the 10:30pm slot from Monday January 30th. Mondays will be repeats of ‘Criminal Intent’. Tuesdays will be ‘Lie to Me’ reruns. Wednesday is currently TBA and Thursday will be repeats of ‘Medium’ which will hopefully run into new episodes later in the year.

One Tree Hill

The seventh season comes to a close on Sunday January 29th at 10am on Ten.

Supernatural / Smallville

There is a week off for ‘Supernatural’ on Monday January 30th. Instead ELEVEN will air a double episode of ‘Smallville’ at 8:30pm. That will leave just 3 episodes remaining from the final season.

Ice Road Truckers

The series now playing on ONE will come to a close on Sunday January 29th at 7:30pm.

Nature’s Power Revealed

The series concludes Sunday January 29th at 6:30pm on ONE.

Blue Bloods

Season 1 comes to a close on Monday January 30th at 10:30pm on ONE.

Black Gold

The series return with an all new season on Tuesday January 31st at 7:30pm on ONE.

Psych

It didn’t take too long for ONE to move into a new season. Season 5 begins Wednesday February 1st at 7:30pm.

Harry’s Law

If you are a fan like me, you might want to know that Nine is screening a double episode on Monday January 16th and Monday January 23rd from 9:30pm. If they then screen a double episode on Monday January 30th, they will be completely up to date with America, as the show will not return to American screens until March 11th.

The Unusuals

This late night show comes to an end of Tuesday January 24th at midnight on Nine.

Homeland

This new American series starts on Sunday January 22nd at 8:30pm on Ten. A repeat of ‘NCIS’ will follow at 9:30pm.

The Biggest Loser

As predicted, Ten will strip the show Monday through Thursday at 7pm on Ten starting January 23rd. All 4 editions in the first week will be 1 hour. The 8pm to 9pm slot on Friday January 27th is currently TBA and could contain some sort of ‘Loser’ episode.

House

Plans to return ‘House’ to Friday nights in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth have now been abandoned by Ten with no airdate set for the show.

Returning: The Good Wife (encore)

Moving: It's a Knockout (season finale)

Season Final: $#*! My Dad Says

The Good Wife

The 2011 season finale will air an encore on Wednesday January 18th at 8:30pm on Ten. This gives us the clue that the series will return the following week, perhaps in a new Wednesday slot.

It’s a Knockout

The second last episode is still scheduled for Sunday January 15th at 7:30pm on Ten. The season final was scheduled for the following night but has instead been banished to Friday January 20th at 7:30pm on Ten. That means the new series of ‘Jamie’s Summer Cooking’ will now debut that evening. Repeats of ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Rules of Engagement’ will air Monday January 16th from 7:30pm.

$#*! My Dad Says

The season final will air Thursday January 12th at 8:30pm on Go! It is the final ever episode and I can reveal it does end of an absolute cliffhanger and we will not ever know the resolution. All episodes of the series (including any skipped ones) have aired so it is good bye to this one.

Based on the Israeli series ‘Hatufim’, the trilling series follows Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) as a Central Intelligence Agency officer who has come to believe that an American Marine now poses a significant risk to national security.

The main cast also includes Damian Lewis as Nicholas Brody, Morena Baccarin as Jessica Brody, David Harewood as David Estes, Diego Klattenhoff as Mike Faber, Jackson Pace as Chris Brody, Morgan Saylor as Dana Brody and Mandy Patinkin as Saul Berenson.

Airing on Showtime in the US, the series has already been renewed for a second season of 12 episodes.

As hype to the television launch, Network Ten has signed a new deal which will see Telstra T-Box customers being the first in Australia to watch ‘Homeland’. The premiere episode will be broadcast on Telstra T-Box, which currently has 200,000 users, for an exclusive viewing ahead of its 2012 television launch.

Based on the 1979 book by Kathy Lette and Gabrielle Carey, the eight-part series is set to be based on the book’s surfie culture, explicit depiction of sex, drug-taking and disrespect of authority.

Network Ten’s Executive Producer of Drama and Entertainment, Rick Maier, said: ”With the music, the fashion, the hair and the nostalgic appeal of the piece, we suspect we are on to something a bit special.”

”The series aims to expand the storylines of the book, to take us into the minds of the parents and teachers, to give us a taste of the politics of the time and the shifting social attitudes,” Maier added.

‘Puberty Blues’ is set to air in 2012 on Network Ten.

New Zealand born Simone chats about the show, the reshooting of the pilot episode, the conditions working in Queensland and what it is like acting with dinosaurs that are not really there when filming is on.

On top of that Simone (pictured) opens up about her past acting roles including the ill fated Dog Eat Dog and Undercover Angels but also the more successful stints on McLeod’s Daughters and her work on Reaper, which her episodes air this month on 7mate.

Simone chats about her talented writer and director husband Gregor who has worked with Heath Ledger at least twice and their son Jack who is enjoying the more ‘stable’ life of Australia, after moving back here from the hustle and bustle of LA.

For the record, the episode of Terra Nova that aired on Sunday December 4th is the final one for 2011. Network Ten would like the series be made available to the widest possible audience and will therefore break for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Ten assures TvCentral that the series will be back for the final 3 episodes in January 2011 but no firm date has been set.

The TvCentral Podcast with Simone Kessell can be found here
