Nine had originally scheduled the new season of ‘The Mentalist’ for January 30th. That was put on hold until February 6th and now that has been put on hold again until February 13th. A double repeat of ‘The Mentalist’ will air at 9:30pm on Monday February 6th, right after a double repeat of ‘The Big Bang Theory’.

Harry’s Law

Nine has also kindly rescheduled this Kathy Bates led series, albeit to a much later time. Episode 11 of season 2 is scheduled to air at 11:30pm on Monday February 6th followed by all new ‘Damages’ at 12:30am.

Family Guy

An all new season returns to 7mate on Tuesday February 14th at 9:30pm. The show will kick off with episode 1 and 3 of the new season. Apparently episode 2 will be played later in the year. Please note that the new season is on TUESDAY night and not Monday night as where the show has been for some time.

American Dad

An all new season returns to 7mate on Tuesday February 14th at 9pm.

Episode 2, which was pitted against the Australian Open Men’s Final will have an encore tonight (January 31st) at 9:30pm on Ten.

Young Talent Time

This is a more significant amendment than what meets the eye. The series will encore its last episode on Saturday February 4th at 6:30pm on Ten. More significantly the series will also encore at 11:30am on the same day on ELEVEN. This is significant because Ten had previously stated the ELEVEN would be a stand alone channel with ‘what plays on ELEVEN, stays on ELEVEN’ and also there would not be airings of Ten shows across the multi channel as Nine does with ‘Top Gear’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Is this a once off or a new trend?

Just a quick note that plans to screen all new ‘Happy Endings’ starting Feb 8th have been scrapped for now in favour of a repeat of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ at 10:30pm on Seven.

Grey’s Anatomy

New episodes will screen from 8:30pm on Thursday February 9th on Seven. The finale from last season will screen at midday on the same day.

Private Practice

New episodes will screen from 10:30pm on Thursday February 9th on Seven.

30 Rock

Before we start the new season of ‘Castle’, Channel 7 will encore the previous season finale on Sunday January 29th at 8:30pm in Perth, 9:30pm in Brisbane, 10pm in Adelaide and 10:30pm in Sydney and Melbourne. These times are subject to change due to the live nature of the 2012 Australian Open Final.

Desperate Housewives

The seventh season ender will encore on Thursday February 2nd at 12 noon on Seven. The brand new eighth and final season will begin with a special double episode on the same night at 8:30pm, but then move to 9:30pm the following week.

Better Homes and Gardens

The 18th season kicks off with a 90 minute episode on Friday February 3rd at 7:30pm on Seven. This time slot is expected to last less than 2 months as the show should move to Thursdays when the AFL season kicks off in late March.

Sunday Night

Chris Bath is back with an all new season of this popular current affairs show starting a week before the official start to ratings – February 5th 6:30pm.

Nothing Trivial

This NZ series season final has been moved to Sunday January 29th at 10:30pm on Nine/WIN.

The Mentalist

Previous guides suggested that new season would begin January 30th but instead a double repeat will air at 9pm that night on Nine. The new season begins Monday February 6th at 9pm.

Harry’s Law

Just a reminder that this terrific series will air at 11pm on Monday January 30th on Nine with episode 11. The show has gone on hiatus in America and will not return until March 18th, but Nine has one additional episode up their sleeve that they can air after the January 30th episode.

Damages

The third season will still premiere on Nine/WIN but now just later – midnight on Monday January 30th.

Two and a Half Men

The new season with Ashton Kutcher returns to Nine on Tuesday February 7th at 8:30pm followed by a repeat at 9pm.

If anyone remembers this series starring Dylan McDermott that aired on GEM first, you can now catch an all new second season on Nine from Wednesday February 8th at midnight.

The Office

The seventh season comes to a close on Tuesday February 7th at 9pm on ELEVEN. The good news is that the channel will then move straight into the eighth season on Tuesday February 14th at 9pm. After so many years of being seasons behind America, ELEVEN will be airing episodes from the same season that is currently airing in America. The episode airing here on February 14th aired only 5 month earlier in America. Come May and we will be only a few episodes behind.

Toasted TV

In case you missed the article in the tv news section, I can exclusively reveal that ‘Toasted TV’ will in fact NOT be axed and instead be moved to ELEVEN as soon as ‘Breakfast’ begins on the Ten main channel, which is rumoured to be late February.

Ten WC 1st January 2006

Just confirming that Ten will air a 30 minute Sunday edition of ‘The Project’ at 6pm Sunday nights beginning on January 22nd and then the weekday edition will air between 6pm and 7pm from January 23rd.

Young Talent Time

The new updated version of this once popular series will begin on Ten on Sunday January 22nd at 6:30pm.

Modern Family

All new episodes (starting with episode 4 of season 3) will return Sunday January 22nd at 7:30pm on Ten.

New Girl

This quite funny new show starts on Ten on Sunday January 22nd at 8pm.

Homeland

This new American series starts on Sunday January 22nd at 8:30pm on Ten. A repeat of ‘NCIS’ will follow at 9:30pm.

The Biggest Loser

As predicted, Ten will strip the show Monday through Thursday at 7pm on Ten starting January 23rd. All 4 editions in the first week will be 1 hour. The 8pm to 9pm slot on Friday January 27th is currently TBA and could contain some sort of ‘Loser’ episode.

The Good Wife

The new season will kick off with a double episode on Wednesday January 25th at 8:30pm on Ten.

Law and Order: SVU

The 13th season will begin on Ten on Thursday January 26th at 9pm followed by a repeat at 10pm. The slot between 8pm and 9pm is currently TBA.

Glee

In an unusual move (probably the most likely to backfire) is the return of Glee. It will air at 7pm (yes that is correct) Fridays from January 27th on Ten with all new episodes.

House

Plans to return ‘House’ to Friday nights in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth have now been abandoned by Ten with no airdate set for the show.

Dexter

ELEVEN has now confirmed that the new season of ‘Dexter’ will in fact be season five. That starts Tuesday January 24th at 9:30pm.

The Loop

That much talked about new music show on ELEVEN called ‘The Loop’ will premiere on Saturday January 28th at 9am. It will then be repeated each Saturday night at 10:30pm.

The 2011 season finale will air an encore on Wednesday January 18th at 8:30pm on Ten. This gives us the clue that the series will return the following week, perhaps in a new Wednesday slot.

It’s a Knockout

The second last episode is still scheduled for Sunday January 15th at 7:30pm on Ten. The season final was scheduled for the following night but has instead been banished to Friday January 20th at 7:30pm on Ten. That means the new series of ‘Jamie’s Summer Cooking’ will now debut that evening. Repeats of ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Rules of Engagement’ will air Monday January 16th from 7:30pm.

$#*! My Dad Says

The season final will air Thursday January 12th at 8:30pm on Go! It is the final ever episode and I can reveal it does end of an absolute cliffhanger and we will not ever know the resolution. All episodes of the series (including any skipped ones) have aired so it is good bye to this one.

These markets finished the year two episodes short of what was screened in Sydney and Brisbane in 2011, so this is a ‘catch-up. A movie called ‘My Life in Ruins’ will air at 8:30pm in Sydney and Brisbane and at 9:30pm in other markets.

Traffic Light

Ten will finish screening the first and only series of ‘Traffic Light’ on Monday January 23rd at 3:30pm.

Friends with Benefits

Taking over the weekday slot from ‘Traffic Light’ starting on Tuesday January 24th at 3:30pm on Ten is the new series ‘Friends with Benefits’. This is another US comedy that bit the dust after only one season of 13 episodes. Nice to see TEN playing it out so quickly after its demise.

Dexter

This cult favourite returns to ELEVEN on Tuesday January 24th at 9:30pm. The episode and season details are currently TBA. The channel has yet to screen season five, so I assume that will be the season premiere on that date. I will keep you posted.

Expedition Impossible

The first season comes to a close on Tuesday January 24th at 7:30pm on One.

The Killing

One of my favourite series comes to and end with the season finale airing on Wednesday January 25th at 9:30pm on One. Congratulations to One for screening the 13 episodes over 13 consecutive Wednesday nights without any breaks or pre emptions and without time slot changes.

Season final will air Friday January 13th at 7:30pm on Ten.

The Graham Norton Show

It starts on Network Ten Saturday January 14th at 8:35pm. Ten promises it is hot off the satellite which would mean it is the latest series.

Rules of Engagement

Ten will air three new episodes over the Christmas / New Year week – Monday December 26th, Tuesday December 27th and Thursday December 28th – all at 8pm. That brings us in line with America. The show end with episode 7 of 15. The show is not scheduled to return anytime soon in America, so that will be the last Ten can screen for now.

The Commander

The season final which is also the final ever episode will air Sunday December 11th at 10:30pm on Nine/WIN.

Hot in Cleveland

The show was delayed a week but is expected to return on Monday December 12th at 8pm on Nine/WIN with episode 2 of season 2 as episode 1 aired on GEM earlier this year.

Terra Nova / Ringer

Ten will leave the series for now after the Sunday December 4th broadcast. The final 3 episodes will return in January. Ringer is also now out of the line-up after the December 4th broadcast.

Meet the Joneses

The season final and probably final ever episode will air Thursday December 8th at 8pm on Ten.

Go Girls

The third season will conclude with a two hour broadcast from 9:30pm Thursday December 8th on Ten.

Smallville

The show will take a break after its December 12th double episode on ELEVEN for about a month and return in January.

The Office

The show will take a break after its December 13th episode on ELEVEN for about a month and return in January for the final 5 episodes of the season which include the departure of Steve Carrell’s character.

The Killing / American Horror Story

These two shows will continue without any disruption through the holiday season (including Christmas week) on One/ELEVEN with new episodes.

So You Think You Can Dance

The final performance show will air Friday December 23rd at 7:30pm on ELEVEN. The final verdict which is the season final will air Christmas Eve at 7:30pm.

Psych / Burn Notice / Blue Bloods

As there is only the season final episode remaining of ‘Psych’ for Monday December 26th, One will air that at 7:30pm. However, being Boxing Day, the channel will air repeat episodes of ‘Burn Notice’ and ‘Blue Bloods’ that night. Here is hoping that they air the next season of ‘Psych’ straight away.

The season final will air Thursday December 15th at 7:30pm on Seven. We are getting this 4 days after the US, so avoid spoilers where you can. We certainly will not be publishing results here early at TvCentral.

Michael Buble TV Special

This special holiday presentation will air on Saturday December 17th at 7pm (10:30pm in Brisbane) on Seven.

Michael Buble hosts his first Christmas show in this star studded special. The multi-Grammy Award winning Canadian will sing songs from his new Christmas album including classics such as ‘White Christmas’, ‘Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas’, ‘Feliz Navidad’, and ‘Jingle Bells’, and will be joined by guest stars Justin Bieber, Oscar the Grouch, The Puppini Sisters and Naturally 7. 

The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol

This premiere special will air Saturday December 17th at 8pm (7:30pm in Brisbane) on Seven.

Woolworths’ Carols in the Domain 2011

This annual Christmas sing-a-long will air on Saturday December 17th at 8:30pm on Seven.

Grant Denyer and Natalie Barr host this year’s Woolworths Carols in the Domain as the event celebrates its 29th anniversary with a top line-up of Australian stars. 

Warehouse 13

Unfortunately, nobody was watching the show at 8:30pm, so 7mate has made a quick change. The show will still air double new episodes on Sunday nights but they will start at 10:30pm from December 4th.

Episode 9 – How to Win Friends and Influence Monsters

- After this episode ELEVEN has chosen to pause season 7 and not air the 10th episode next week. Doing this is most likely for the ability to ensure that there are no breaks when the show returns in 2012.

- In it’s place ‘Smallville’ will take over the time slot with “new” doubles while ‘Supernatural’ is on hiatus.

Nine WC 4th February 2007

Season final will air Sunday December 4th at 7pm on 7Two.

Hot in Cleveland

New episodes return to Nine on Monday December 5th at 8pm. GEM aired the first episode of season 2 earlier this year on a Friday night, which is why Nine are kicking off with episode 2 of the second season.

Harry’s Law

One of my favourite series is back with all new episodes. Season 2 of ‘Harry’s Law’ begins Monday December 5th at 9:30pm on Nine.

Ten News at Six

From Monday November 28th, Ten will split its 90 minute news services on weeknights into two, with ‘Ten News at Five’ airing between 5pm and 6pm and then ‘Ten News at Six’ airing from 6pm to 6:30pm. BOTH editions will remain a local service for each market. Essentially as a viewer, not much will change in that Ten will still provide a 90 minute news service each night. This change is for branding purposes. By airing as 90 minutes, viewers can feel like they are ‘dipping’ into a bulletin and perhaps missing crucial parts. By branding, ‘Ten News at Six’ this way will mean that viewers coming in at six will have a full bulletin from the beginning.

Rules of Engagement

Ten will move straight into the new season that is currently airing in America. Season 6 begins Tuesday December 6th at 8pm on Ten.

Keeping Up with the Joneses

The season final (and almost definitely the series final) will air Thursday December 8th at 8pm on Ten.

Supernatural / Smallville

ELEVEN will pause the season after the episode airing on Monday November 28th at 8:30pm, despite the fact they could continue to fast track the series for one additional week. An episode would have been available to air on Monday December 5th. The series then goes on an American break and returns there on January 6th. ELEVEN is likely to be doing this in order to have a couple of episodes up their sleeve so that when the show returns here in February, there will not be a breaks between episodes. ‘Smallville’ doubles will air on December 5th and December 12th from 8:30pm and both episodes will be new. The episodes screening on December 12th aired in America in February of this year.

Blue Bloods

The show returns to One on Monday December 12th at 9:30pm.

Seven

As Seven have commitments with the Australian Open, they do not really have the room to begin new 13 or 22 part series. Instead the schedule will be littered with observational documentaries.

Most of the line-up remains in tact, albeit in repeat mode. Of note is double new episodes of ‘Warehouse 13′ on Sunday nights and all new ‘Reaper’ and ‘Jersey Shore’ on Friday nights.

Happy Endings

The new American comedy will make its debut right after ‘The X Factor’ finale on Tuesday November 22nd at 9:30pm on Seven and then will continue Thursday November 24th at 9pm after the ‘Beauty and the Geek’ finale.

Summer on Seven

2011 has seen a much less crop of factual shows on the box, which means episodes of shows have been stock piling for summer. There are a number of TBA’s but here is what we do know so far:

Sundays: Repeats of ‘Bones’ and ‘Castle’ will continue as will new episodes of ‘Royal Pains’. The new 8 part comedy ‘Love Bites’ will air from 11:30pm.

Mondays: ‘SCU: Serious Crash Unit’ and ‘Drug Bust’ will combine for a factual double followed by a ‘Criminal Minds’ repeat and then all new ‘Air Crash Investigations’.

Tuesdays: ‘Parks and Recreation’ will continue but only two episodes remain from the current season.

Wednesdays: The UK version of ‘World’s Strictest Parents’ will air with new episodes followed by a ‘Criminal Minds’ repeat and again all new ‘Air Crash Investigations’.

Thursdays: ‘The Amazing Race’ will move to 7:30pm for its final run of 3 episodes in the season.

Fridays: Will see the tradition of the summer edition of ‘Better Homes and Gardens’. Late night will see the new series, ‘Natural Mysteries’ and the return of the American comedy ‘Perfect Couples’ which was pulled from its Tuesday slot about 6 weeks ago. The show has 4 episodes to screen.

Of Note: ‘RSPCA Animal Rescue’ repeats take the 7pm weeknight slot and repeats of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ will air late night Mondays and Tuesdays.

Summer on 7Two

The most significant change is that ‘The Bill’ will air Monday to Thursday at around 9:30pm and repeats of ‘Six Feet Under’ will air straight after. Most of the other line-up is the same sort of stuff you normally see on 7Two, just in different slots or in repeat mode. Of note though is that ‘Mad About You’ and ‘Who’s the Boss’ join the afternoon line-up from November 28th.

Summer on 7mate

Sundays: ‘Verminators’ is a new series that will air before repeats of ‘Mythbusters’ and look for new double episodes of ‘Warehouse 13′ from 8:30pm on November 27th.

Mondays: ‘Boston Legal’ repeats at around 11pm otherwise same line-up.

Tuesdays: ‘Mythbusters’ repeats followed by the new series ‘The Border’ then ‘All Worked Up’ and ‘Boston Legal’ repeats.

Wednesdays: same line-up as usual but late night ‘Banged Up Abroad’ and ‘The Sexy Ads Show’.

Thursdays: pretty much same line-up as usual

Fridays: ‘Gene Simmons Family Jewels’ is back with all new episodes at 7:30pm, then double repeat ‘My Name is Earl’ at 8:30pm, then FINALLY all new episodes of ‘Reaper’ starting with the 5th episode of season two. Then all new ‘Jersey Shore’ late night.

Saturdays: ‘The Universe’ is back.

Note: ‘Gary Unmarried’ repeats 6:30pm weeknights. Disappointing to see 7mate not resume ‘Last Comic Standing’ in that line-up.

The grand final edition of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ will be 90 minutes and will air Monday November 21st from 7pm on Nine/WIN.

Australia’s Funniest Home Videos

The 2011 grand final will air Saturday November 26th at 6:30pm on Nine/WIN.

I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here

A new season for FTA will premiere on Wednesday November 23rd at 7:30pm on Go! for 90 minutes and then will continue the following night in the same time slot for 1 hour.

Undercover Boss USA

Ten will air a missed episode of ‘Undercover Boss USA’ on Monday November 21st at 8:30pm on Ten. That brings the season to a close. There is 1 other episode that was missed in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth and then a further episode that Melbourne missed, but there is no clarification if those episodes will ever air in those markets.

Go Girls

Well only 1 episode has screened from season 3 so far but the show will be back in summer, airing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30pm on Ten starting November 29th on Ten.

Law and Order

After 20 seasons and 456 episodes, the original ‘Law and Order’ comes to a close. Network Ten will air the final ever episode on Thursday December 1st at 10:30pm.

Supernatural / Smallville / The Office / American Horror Story / The Cleveland Show / So You Think You Can Dance

For the first week of summer starting Sunday November 27th, all of these series will continue with new episodes on ELEVEN. Fans of all of these series would be hoping the popular multi channel continues this trend through all of summer, but be aware that ‘Supernatural’ and ‘The Cleveland Show’ are being fast tracked so there won’t be too many episodes available over summer.

Burn Notice

ONE will air the fourth season final on Monday November 21st at 8:30pm. But before ONE can get to season 5, the USA network in America actually aired a special ‘Burn Notice’ movie titled ‘The Fall of Sam Axe’. The good news is ONE does have the rights to this telemovie and will air it on Monday November 28th at 8:30pm. The fifth season did begin on June 23rd in America, so ONE do have the option of moving into the new season the week after and continuing with the new line-up of ‘Burn Notice’ and ‘Blue Bloods’.

Episode 7 – Nightfall

Season 1

Episode Description:

A crashing meteor wipes out all technology and wreaks havoc on the colony. Meanwhile, Maddy (Naomi Scott) and Reynolds (guest star Dean Geyer) are stuck out in the wilderness. Back at Terra Nova, Elisabeth and Skye must work together to save a life, Taylor tries to prevent Mira (Christine Adams) and the “Sixers” from invading, and a mystery man makes his presence known.

Only three episodes were made (not 4 as I previously indicated). The season final will air Tuesday November 15th at 8:30pm on Seven.

Body of Proof / Parenthood

It is very possible that the final new episode of ‘Body of Proof’ will air Monday November 14th and the final new ‘Parenthood’ will air Tuesday November 15th on Seven. The following week is the final week of the ratings season and the slots for both shows are currently TBA. It is expected though that Seven will fill either one or both slots with the advertised Kyle and Jackie O special.

The X Factor

The final 3 will perform live in a 2 hour episode of ‘The X Factor’ on Monday November 21st at 7:30pm on Seven. The grand final will air as 2 hours also the following night, Tuesday November 22nd at 7:30pm.

Sunday Night

The season final will air Sunday November 20th at 6:30pm on Seven.

Wild Boys

The slot is currently TBA but there will be two episodes of ‘Wild Boys’ left with one Sunday remaining of the 2011 ratings year and that TBA slot is 2 hours. So, that would have to be the most obvious TBA  in history. So let me confidently say that the 2 hour double episode season final of ‘Wild Boys’ will air Sunday November 20th at 7:30pm on Seven.

The One

The season final will air Wednesday November 23rd at 7:30pm on Seven.

Beauty and the Geek / Happy Endings / The Amazing Race

The 90 minute season final will air Thursday November 24th at 7:30pm on Seven. The 9pm slot for 30 minutes is TBA, but it would seem pretty obvious that Seven would launch ‘Happy Endings’ there as per current advertising. ‘The Amazing Race’ airs at 9:30pm that night.

Home and Away

The 2011 season finale will air Friday November 25th at 7pm on Seven.

Better Homes and Gardens

It is not marked as a season final because repeats will air the following week, but the final new episode will air Friday November 25th at 7:30pm on Seven.

There is no new episode of ‘CSI’ on Wednesday November 9th on Nine. Instead, the series will move to Sundays starting November 13th at 8:30pm. ‘Frozen Planet’ will have two airings in the week commencing November 6th and November 13th on Sundays at 6:30pm and Wednesdays at 8:30pm. ‘Person of Interest’ will have the night off on Sunday November 6th but return on Sunday November 13th at 9:30pm.

Wipeout USA

All new episodes return on Thursday November 17th at 7:30pm on Go!

Undercover Boss USA

The second season final airs on Monday November 14th at 8:30pm on Ten. I am pretty sure episode 20 was not played nationally and Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth have missed an additional 2 episodes and Melbourne an extra one on top of that in season 2.

Junior MasterChef

Look for an extra episode on Tuesday November 15th at 7:30pm in addition to the usual Sunday and Monday episodes.

NCIS / NCIS Los Angeles

The episode of ‘NCIS’ to air on Tuesday November 8th will be the last new episode for 2011. The next two episodes were a big two part episode that Ten will use to launch the 2012 season. However, ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ will continue for two additional weeks with new  episodes but at the earlier time of 8:30pm starting November 15th.

Rush

The season final will air Thursday November 17th at 8:30pm on Ten, which could very well turn out to be the final ever episode.
