'The Amazing Race Australia' coming soon to Seven.

The Seven Network, in partnership with Disney Media Distribution Asia Pacific, are to produce a local version of the hit reality series ‘The Amazing Race’.

The local adaptation, which will see teams of Australian couples race around the world, follows the succesful localisation for the format in Asia, Brazil, China, Israel and Latin America.

“The US version of “The Amazing Race’ has had a huge following on Seven and we are thrilled to be working with Disney on ‘The Amazing Race Australia’ which promises to capture the excitement of the original series,” said Seven’s Head of Production Brad Lyons in a statement.

It’s unclear who will host ‘The Amazing Race Australia’, though Phil Keoghan, host of the American version, has already been linked to the series, along with Daniel MacPherson and Grant Denyer.

‘The Amazing Race Australia’ will be produced in conjunction with Active TV, who helped adapt the series for Asia and Israel and are currently producing ’Prank Patrol’ for the ABC.
