Reps for Jeff Goldblum have announced that the actor is leaving ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’ after just two seasons.

The 57-year-old actor is exiting the drama series “due to the uncertainty” of the show’s future.

The crime procedural just wrapped its ninth season on July 6 in the States and has not yet been renewed by the USA Network.

If the series does return, it’s believed that USA are planning to produce a shortened eight-episode season to wrap up the series — bringing back some of the show’s original actors, including Vincent D’Onofrio.

It’s unclear whether Saffron Burrows, who stars opposite Goldblum, is planning to return should the show be picked up for a final season.

Goldblum is next set to appear in the feature films ‘The Switch’ (with Jennifer Aniston, Patrick Wilson and Jason Bateman) and the J.J. Abrams produced comedy ‘Morning Glory’ (which stars Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton and Rachel McAdams).
