'Hot In Cleveland' stars Jane Leeves, Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli and Wendie Malick.

TV Land have picked up ‘Hot in Cleveland’ for a second season.

The cable network have ordered 20 episodes for the new season, which is double the amount originally ordered for season one.

“We are so excited that ‘Hot in Cleveland’ was embraced by viewers in such a big way,” said TV Land president Larry W. Jones. “We absolutely love the show and can’t wait to see what hilarious new experiences these characters will encounter.”

The Betty White starrer debuted last month to an impressive 4.8 million viewers, making it the most-watched sitcom screening in US cable television history. Ratings have since fallen, but still remain strong at around 3 million viewers an episode.

The second season is tentatively scheduled for a January premiere next year.

The series has been picked up by Endemol for worldwide distribution and is expected to screen later this year on the Nine Network.
