‘MasterChef’ returning for third series

According to the Sunday Herald Sun, Network Ten have signed on ‘MasterChef Australia’ judges Matt Preston, George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan for another season.
The news comes just days after speculation that Seven were hoping to poach one or more of the judges for a rival show.
“MasterChef is incredibly successful and we are not surprised by rumours of rival networks sniffing around, but be assured our judges are under contract to MasterChef,” said a Ten spokesperson.
“They and the show won’t be going anywhere.”
‘MasterChef’ is expected to run for at least another two seasons on Ten, under Elisabeth Murdoch’s Shine Australia banner, who resume the rights to the series from FremantleMedia Australia.
Shine are also producing the upcoming series of ‘Junior MasterChef’ which began production this week.
‘Junior MasterChef’ will air after the Commonwealth Games on Ten.
