Just like last season’s snap up of ‘Privileged’ star Joanna Garcia, “Gossip Girl’ is bringing another star of an ill-fated CW drama into the fold.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Katie Cassidy, who played the vixen Ella Simms on ‘Melrose Place’ this past season, will join the cast of the New York-based drama for a multi-episode arc.

She will play  a new love interest for Chace Crawford’s character Nate Archibald.

Cassidy’s character “will make trouble” for several Upper East Siders, said EW’s ‘Gossip’ source, adding “she is not what she appears.”

If her character is anything like Ella on ‘Melrose’, then the Upper East Side locals better watch their backs.

Cassidy will make her first appearance in the season four premiere, which is currently shooting scenes in Paris, France.
