ABC have passed on picking up ‘The New Adventures of Old Christine’.
The Julia Louis-Dreyfus comedy, which ended its fifth season on May 12, was believed to be highly sought after by ABC, who were in negotiations with Warner Bros. on several occasions (and as late as early May).
However, since the official cancellation by CBS on May 18, ABC have decided not to move forward with ‘Old Christine’, instead refocusing their efforts on their new comedy slate — which includes ‘Better Together’, ‘Happy Endings’ and ‘Mr. Sunshine’.
Warner Bros. reportedly officially pulled the plug on ‘Old Christine’ when talks with ABC broke down on Wednesday.
ABC also passed on bringing ‘Ghost Whisperer’ back from the dead last week, which was also being considered for a new lease on life on the network.
